Why is nothing community getting boring?

In letzter Zeit habe ich das Gefühl, dass nichts in der Community nicht mehr so interessant ist wie früher. * Keine Fotowettbewerbe (sie haben es stillschweigend eingestellt, als wäre es nichts) * Keine weiteren Wettbewerbe statt dessen * Dies ist zu einer Art Werbemarkt für MI-Telefone geworden, der nur für die neueren Geräte wirbt und die Funktionen dieser Geräte hervorhebt Was haltet ihr davon?

Lately I’ve been feeling nothing community is not that interesting as it used to be..

No photography contests (they silently discontinued it like it was nothing)
No other contests in place of that
This has became like an ad market in MI phones that only promote their newer devices and highlight the features of those devices

What do you guys think about it?

Vishalkumarbilla can we just blame the company? The community was supposed to be more about the consumers interacting but it’s just everyone complaining about the tiniest things, that you could resolve by googling or just the same stupid “wHeN iS nEw UpDaTe?” And when it comes they’ll complain it is the same. Lowkey planning on giving up on this community even though I love the actual creative people and how they make things that are actually creative and fun

Photography contests were held by Natalie…and i think she left nothing…so it’s not happening…

Sure it’s 100% feel like a AD nowadays… so many people applied for review program and got devices.. some of them are good and more than 70% are same, no creativity no perspective just specs and 4-5 camera samples…

Vishalkumarbilla I think the Community needs to have separate section for complaints so all the bickering babies can assemble there.

And a separate section for other folks who’d actually like to have a community and drive community projects.

And I totally agree witht he photography contest: it used to be what kept me coming back, but now it’s gone and every time I come back I feel like stepping into a store.

We, the users could try to bring back the photo contests, bur the threads wouldn’t definitely get as much attention as if they were made by someone from the team.

Bubi the Discord server was much the same for a while. It was just absolutely toxic and no fun to participate there for a while.

I’ve been part of the community review program a couple times and, to be fair, it’s not that easy to do a review that doesn’t sound the same like your peers. You only get to test the device for maybe a week or two before having to make the post, so you don’t really have the time to test everything fully, especially if you have other things to do like working.

I was lucky enough that I could keep both devices they sent me, but now I’ve seen that they make the people return them, which in my opinion it’s not great because you’re basically working for free for Nothing and then you return a device that most likely will be better than the one you already have, so you’re more eager to buy the new one.

Mr Steel I’m sure you’ve realized that the real issue here isn’t the photo challenge, but the heavy atmosphere of dissatisfaction, disappointment, and distrust toward the brand. The constant requests for fixes, updates, and basic app features have turned this community into a frustrating and toxic place for those who actually came here looking for discussion and shared growth. Dozens of posts with the same requests — people don’t even check whether their question has already been answered, they just keep posting the same things over and over. Maybe it’s easier to come here and spam than to do a simple Google search.

I believe the photo challenge is the only thread that the more moderate and creative members look for, just to enjoy beautiful images from around the world without being overwhelmed by the endless problems affecting NOTHING phones. Something needs to change, or this community will lose its best contributors.

I hope the translation makes the meaning of what I’m trying to say clear.

Yes I fully agree, unfortunately this has been the case for a long time now. 1 sentence posts without providing any detail at all, not using the search function before starting a new discussion, double posts within an hour of each other, meaningless titles. I’ve seen it all happen almost on a daily basis. It feels like people have forgotten how to use internet forums.

I joined the community a bit late in December, so I can’t fully compare everything, but even then, the energy felt very different. People were genuinely encouraging and supportive, and that’s what pulled me in. The hardware design of Nothing phones was so unique and eye-catching that it inspired me to start creating my own concepts. I joined thinking I’d learn more about design, 3D modeling, and grow by interacting with others, but lately all I see in the comments is “when is the update?” and honestly, it feels discouraging—it makes you question whether it’s even worth sharing your work. At 17, I feel like this is the perfect time to build connections and learn from people around me, but you can probably see what’s happening instead. But it’s not all negative. Personally, I’ve grown a lot. I’m very introverted in real life and barely speak, but the community has helped me open up, interact more, and even reduce my anxiety. I still hope the community can shift back to being a space where people truly connect, support each other, and grow together.

PREET AJMERI Dear friend, don’t let the slightly tense atmosphere in the community discourage you. Alongside all the whiny kids, there are also friendly and knowledgeable people here. You’ll soon learn to recognize them. I have to use a translator because they’re on the other side of the world, but somehow we still manage to communicate despite the language barrier. 😁

And don’t forget: we’re talking about phones — tech gadgets we’re all passionate about. Objects that help us in daily life, that we enjoy looking at, and that we like to keep in perfect condition… and NOTHING phones are nice to look at.

But at the end of the day, they’re still objects with the flaw of having a relatively short lifespan (technology moves very fast).

If your interest is design/3D modeling and interacting with friends who share that passion, learn to ignore the useless, repetitive posts and focus only on the content that matters to you.

PREET AJMERI man I’m also tired of the update thing, everytime I open the community it’s someone asking about the same update over and over. I love helping people who have questions here but I don’t even feel like answering these people anymore, why can’t they just search or look at the official announcement of the 4.1 update and see that people have asked and I think Rahul had replied that it will release soon, and that 4.1 is still having a lot of beta features so if it doens’t work the same people will complain saying how had the update is and that it was not even worth the wait like who is even making you wait? It’s just a minor update with like 2 new features and still people are dying to get it and Im sure once they get it they’ll just complain even more that it’s such a minor thing

Arpan I don’t really have an issue when people post their doubts, after all, it might be their first time using a Nothing device, so it’s understandable. The real problem starts when people create unnecessary threads and spam the community. I completely agree with Mr. Steel here; many people just don’t use the search bar or the internet properly before posting, and that’s what clutters the space.
