everyone,
I’m using a Nothing Phone (2a) and I’m trying to find out whether this is normal behavior or a display issue.
When Always-On Display (AOD) is enabled, I notice a reddish/pink flash near the top edge of the screen when I touch the fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone. The flash only appears for a brief moment during the transition from AOD to the unlock screen.
Some details:
The effect is visible to the naked eye.
It only happens when unlocking directly from AOD.
If I wake the screen first using the power button and then unlock with my fingerprint, the reddish area does not appear.
I don’t see any tint, burn-in, dead pixels, or discoloration during normal use.
White, gray, and solid-color test screens look normal.
Screenshots do not capture the issue.
I’ve attached a slow-motion video showing the behavior.
Has anyone with a Nothing Phone (2a) or 2a Plus noticed something similar? I’d really appreciate it if someone could test this on their device in a dark room with AOD enabled.
Thanks!
