Which app does the Nothing Community desperately want?

Als Android-App-Entwickler bin ich immer auf der Suche nach Ideen, die echte Probleme lösen, anstatt eine weitere App zu erstellen, die niemand braucht. Deshalb wollte ich die Nothing-Community fragen: Welche App fehlt Ihrer Meinung nach noch im Nothing-Ökosystem? Nicht unbedingt eine App, die Nothing selbst erstellen muss – einfach eine App, von der Sie sich wünschen, dass sie mit einem klaren, minimalistischen, von Nothing inspirierten Erlebnis existiert. Einige Beispiele: • Dateimanager • Musikplayer • Notizen-App • Galerie-App • PDF-/Dokumentenmanager • Kalender-App • Gewohnheits-Tracker • Produktivitätswerkzeuge • Offline-First-Dienstprogramme Ich erkunde derzeit neue Projekte und würde gerne verstehen, was die Community tatsächlich will, anstatt zu raten. Wenn genügend Leute an einer bestimmten Idee interessiert sind, würde ich gerne darüber nachdenken, sie umzusetzen und den Fortschritt mit der Community zu teilen. Also: Welche App möchten Sie und was stimmt mit den vorhandenen Optionen nicht? Ich freue mich auf Ihre Ideen 👀

As an Android app developer, I’m always looking for ideas that solve real problems instead of creating another app nobody needs.

So I wanted to ask the Nothing Community:

What’s the one app you think is still missing from the Nothing ecosystem?

Not necessarily an app that Nothing has to build themselves—just an app you wish existed with a clean, minimal, Nothing-inspired experience.

Some examples:

• File manager

• Music player

• Notes app

• Gallery app

• PDF / document manager

• Calendar app

• Habit tracker

• Productivity tools

• Offline-first utilities

I’m currently exploring new projects and would love to understand what the community actually wants instead of guessing.

If enough people are interested in a particular idea, I’d be happy to consider building it and sharing progress with the community.

Shubham verma We don’t need a Gallery App as we already have an official app by Nothing, and there are loads of community made Notes apps so no need for that. A music player might be good.

Fair point. Gallery is pretty much covered now, and there are already plenty of Notes apps.

I’m actually working on a minimalist file manager inspired by Nothing’s design language, mainly because most file managers feel too cluttered.

A music player sounds interesting though. What do you think current music players are missing? 👀

Fair point. Being able to uninstall more default Google apps would definitely be nice.

Pllls, Develop an app that allows the user to use the glyph as a flashlight, but, most importantly, to be able to regulate the brightness. Perhaps also a mode where you can play some cool patterns.

That’s actually a great idea. Custom Glyph patterns and brightness control would be really useful.

I’ll have to check what access Nothing currently gives to developers, but it’s definitely an interesting project. 👀

GeorgSchanbacher If you long-press the flashlight quick tile you will activate the glyph torche. Adjusting the brightness is not possible but using the glyph as a flashlight should be no problem already 🙂

I would rather have the Nothing Gallery connected to Google Photos (like Xiaomi or OnePlus) :-)

I already knew that you could use Glyph as a flashlight. My point is that you need to be able to adjust the brightness. That’s the most important thing in the app.

GeorgSchanbacher Hey, there is an app called GlyphNexus which has Glyph Torch and has an option to adjust the glyph brightness as well. Not sure if anyone is aware of that app or not

Vidyut_nagarkar I agree. A dedicated Notes app would be great, but even a simple 2×2 or 4×2 Notes widget could cover most people’s needs and fit perfectly with Nothing’s minimalist design philosophy.

It’s interesting to see how many community members are asking for some kind of Notes solution. 👀

The community has done a great job with notes apps either in progress or already released like Noting by @Ali Fakhruddin , Arror by @Shaurya , Notes by @ostoaleonardo. There have been a few music players but I know this one can be hard to perfect, I would love to see some more music players and file management solutions!

Zac 🛸 I don’t mind the stock media player as such. In fact I’m someone who likes to show off his music taste. Heh, the fact that I could add photos to the lock screen and AOD got me hooked cause I can set 70s and 80s Rock and metal album covers on it and I have. So thank you nothing ❤️
