I’ve always found the lack of any real critism quastionable here.
Yeah, it’s an “inside” community. The dominant crowd are obviously big time fans. The dominant part of comments (in numbers, likes, veiws etc..) are pure compliments.
But sometimes, it just gets overbearing. And this type of repititive, aimless devices and releases, which has happened before with 3a lite, happened a couple times with earbuds and watches, software updates, and now this.. it is one of them.
I am 100% positive that if you just mildly edit that “glyph bar” so that it wouldn’t look the same as the bar on phone 4a, then slap a poco branding on it… had they done that and even posted it here, every last one of these compliments would’ve turned into mockery. I don’t even see a reason to further explain why and how the comments would’ve changed.
This pattern has been repeated so many times that if someone still can’t see it, there is no point to do so. But it certainly helped them so much that they did get away with a lot of their mistakes, sometimes with excuses, sometimes without even that. But if this design and hardware (wait for the soc and price, it will wow you again) really "wow"s you, just because “Nothing OS is clean and unique” and all that, go for it.
Just don’t complain about all the persistant bugs, green tint issues, overheat problems, weird “service” apps that install stuff … . Keep complementing🙂
