Hey everyone.
I received and set up my new 3a Pro last week. The phone was running the latest OS, but during my short time with it, I noticed that I was having issues with push notifications in several apps (Twitter, WhatsApp, Discord, etc.). As soon as the phone was left unused for an extended period, hardly any—if any—notifications appeared or they came in with a big delay of up to an hour. As soon as the phone was unlocked, it took a brief moment, and then the notifications started showing up. When i left my phone on my counter and went to sleep. Some notifications were on the phone. Cant confirme id the delay was as big as during the day when I’m having it in my pocket and check it more often.
Another interesting phenomenon: After the phone had been idle in standby mode for a while, a WhatsApp message was sent to me from another phone. However, WhatsApp on the other phone was unable to deliver the message or register that my phone had received it. Other apps displayed error messages such as “You’re offline” or “Network issues” or they took up to half a minute of loading after unlocking the phone, even though the phone was connected to the internet via Wi-Fi or mobile data.
After a bit of searching online, i triedthe following solutions on the affected apps:
Battery:
- Battery Saver: Off
- Adaptive Battery: Off
- Sleep Standby Optimization: Off
Apps:
- Permissions:
- Notifications:
- Default setting + Override Do Not Disturb**
- Mobile Data and Wi-Fi
- Background Data + Unrestricted mobile data usage: On
App Battery Usage:
- Allow background usage: On + set to unrestricted
I even went into the developer settings and enabled the “Mobile data always active” option.
Does this sound familiar to any of you, or does anyone have a great tip on what else I could try? I read online that this problem occurs quite often.
I’d really appreciate it if any of you could help me.
