It’s been around 35 days since I started using the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro as my primary device. In these two months, this phone has been with me through University, photography walks, content creation, long gaming sessions, and everyday life.
By now, everyone knows the specifications and has watched plenty of reviews. So instead of talking about benchmark scores and marketing features, I wanted to share my personal experience—what I genuinely liked, what surprised me, and where I think Nothing can still improve.
First Impressions… and 35 Days Later
The first thing that caught my attention was obviously the design. Nothing has always done things differently, and the Phone (4a) Pro continues that philosophy.
Even after a month, I still enjoy picking it up. The metal body feels premium, the transparent-inspired design stands out, and the Glyph Matrix gives the phone a unique identity. I’ve had several people ask me about the phone simply because it doesn’t look like every other smartphone.
Another small but meaningful improvement is the button placement. Separating the Essential Key from the power button has completely solved the accidental presses I experienced on earlier models.
Nothing OS – My Favorite Part of the Phone
If there’s one reason I’d recommend this phone, it’s Nothing OS.
Everything feels clean, smooth, and thoughtfully designed. There are no unnecessary apps, no visual clutter, and no features that feel like they’re there just to tick a box.
One thing I genuinely noticed is that my screen time has gone down. The monochrome icons and minimalist interface make the phone feel less distracting while still looking beautiful. I honestly didn’t expect software alone to change the way I use my phone.
Everyday Performance
I’m not someone who spends time comparing benchmark numbers.
I just want a phone that feels fast every time I unlock it, and that’s exactly what the Phone (4a) Pro has delivered.
Whether I’m editing photos, browsing social media, switching between multiple apps, or playing BGMI, the experience has remained smooth and reliable.
I haven’t faced random lag, app crashes, or heating issues during my daily use, which is exactly what I expect from a phone in this category.
Cameras That Made Me Use My Phone More
As someone who enjoys mobile photography, the camera experience matters a lot to me.
The primary camera consistently captures natural colors, balanced exposure, and plenty of detail without making images look overly processed
The telephoto lens has easily become my favorite. Portraits look fantastic, zoom quality is impressive, and the macro mode has helped me capture some of my favorite shots with this phone.
The ultrawide camera is the only part of the camera system that feels average. It’s perfectly usable in daylight, but I’d definitely like to see an upgrade in future devices.
Battery Life
Battery life has been one of the biggest positives.
Even on days filled with photography, navigation, content creation, and social media, I comfortably finish the day without worrying about charging.
Standby battery drain has also been excellent, making the overall experience even better.
My Thoughts on the Glyph Matrix
I’ll be honest—I initially missed the original Glyph Lights.
But after using the Glyph Matrix every day, it has really grown on me.
Checking timers, battery level, notifications, and other information without turning the phone over has become surprisingly useful. It’s one of those features that sounds small but becomes part of your routine very quickly.
What I’d Like to See Improved
No phone is perfect, and I think there’s still room for improvement.
I’d love to see:
None of these are deal-breakers for me, but they would make an already great experience even better.
Final Thoughts
After 35 days, I feel like I finally understand what Nothing is trying to achieve.
This phone isn’t about having the biggest numbers on a specification sheet.
It’s about delivering an experience that feels different, thoughtful, and enjoyable every single day.
The design still feels fresh, Nothing OS remains one of the cleanest Android experiences available, the cameras have been reliable for my photography, and the battery has never let me down
If someone asked me whether I’d recommend the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro after using it for two months, my answer would definitely be yes.
Not because it’s perfect—but because it’s a phone with its own identity, and that’s something that’s becoming increasingly rare
