Beats Studio Buds by Apple, airpods for android?

Recently Beats launched Studio Buds which are sort of apple airpods for android. Given that Beats is an apple company, is there a possibility that apple trying to dabble in the large untapped android TWS market through Beats. Do we have a new competitor?

It’s understandable that Apple wants a slice of the Android market. While the AirPods do work, they are mostly severed products when paired with anything non-Apple. It’s like MKBHD mentions in his video: “if Beats wins, Apple wins".

About the earphones themselves, they are not for me. I have tried several Beats products and not only do they not feel as premium as they cost, their sound profile is not for my taste. For comparison, when I am at home, I use my pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50X.

It seems the Beats Studio Buds are a balanced product that does not really exceed in any department. That may sound like not a bad deal, but they do cost 149,95€ here. Right now, the earphones that truly have my attention are the Sony WF-1000XM4 - even if they are priced around 279€ in Europe.

Of course beats is trying to compete with the android market. They are trying to make things more comfortable with affordable prices. But I don’t think they can survive just because they are an apple product. I have tested beats studio 3 which was not worth the price. Definitely they are missing out something that doesn’t fit android. I think @changename will be a strong competitor for the entire TWS market. Even though the product is yet to launch, I love the way @Carl works for each and every detail. We saw OnePlus and we’ll see NOTHING.

I am a big fan of having a neutral sound in my earphones, unfortunately, beats are more bassy than I’d like. That’s why for a while I had xiaomi earphones as they were very balanced and relatively good sound for cheap.

You have to give them credit for the lower price point here - you’re getting USB-C charging, ANC, and customization through a dedicated app - I think these are quite a compelling offering… the worst part is that they’re Beats branded!
