UpawNothing I guess. It really depends. I find the sports capacity of the CMF3 excellent and it compares very well to my Garmin+HR strap (HR/GPS tracking). Having said that I don’t use the music functions but I do scan through my alerts (200 or so per day).
£69 to £269 would be a huge jump and it would have to incorporate more than emojis to excite me as a user as that’s getting to near 50% of a phone price.
The durability of the CMF Watch 3 Pro is quite lacklustre and the bezel on my orange one is fully scratched from handlebars/kettlebars/rowing oars and the like.
I guess if it was £250, I’d expect:
- Full 5-10 ATM waterproofing (which is missing in the CMF3WP)
- Better GPS similar to Garmin. I found that the CMFW3P takes a datapoint every 5 sec with no variation give how fast/slow one goes. Perhaps this will be improved.
- Better heart rate capture (this is similar, i.e. more granular than my Garmin)
MOST IMPORTANTLY, would it run a NOTHING OS skinned version of Wear OS compared to the RTOS that runs on the CMF3WP and larger memory. With full apps/widgets available, if so, that would be worth it in my opinion. Even though that £200 is peanuts for us, I’d still use the CMF3WP up before upgrading. I’d hope that battery life would remain excellent though.
