Court Nice topic for discussion (and thanks for continuing my ‘All things…’ theme!)
As adbo said, we discussed this whole VR gaming situation as, like yourself, I am an FPS player and would LOVE to really immersive myself to the next level, with VR. I’m not sure through how the experience would be able to be ‘almost perfect’ without the need for one of those infinity treadmill things, which then means additional cost and space.
I still think we’re only touching the surface of VR capabilities and it’s not been executed on a mass consumer level yet. There are great individual use cases of it, such as creating 3D models of developments/buildings to tour before it’s built, or to host a global book launch (I joined one last week, it was awesome).
Should VR become more mass market, it probably needs to be more accessible in terms of cost and size of the product - I hear heaviness plays a part and if you wanted to immerse yourself properly, you’ll need something light on your face for all those hours.
