Ear (a) - battery discussion

Recently I have updated the latest firmware for my ear (a). After that left ear bud charges upto 90%. If I put the left earbud alone in the case it will charge upto 100%. Another problem is left earbud draining very fast than right ear bud. Is there any way to fix this?

Same issue. Submitted error report, Nothing QC is absolutely terrible. Will be my last Nothing Audio product…

dudeJr same problem. Right bus is at 100 after 5 mins. Left dropped to 90. And I felt some heat in the left bus alone. This happened after the buds 2a firmware update.

Hello there, i have new ear(a) and just realized the right bud will never charge past 70 %. I found one guy on reddit with the same issue and I have tried factory resetting and fully discharging and recharging them but nothing changed. Even updated my nothing phone 3 to the latest version but the problem persists. Is there any obvious fix or should I just ask the support for a replacement?

It seems to me like a software issue since at least one other person had the EXACT same problem of right bud 70% and it would be weird to have the same hardware issue. BTW I bought it directly from nothing, so no third party merchant involved.

I got the same problem with left earbud. I have requested a repair. First time sent to service center they return me back without any service/repair. And I request again, the second time they replaced a new one. So, eventually this issue cannot resolve until now.

Mmh i guess a ask for a replacement then. Weird problem. I am overall actually happy with them but it’s sad the they seem to have battery problems right after manufacturing. It’s a bit disappointing for that price since I have never had any problems with my previous cheap Chinese ones aside that they were cheap and therefore had cheap speakers.

It happened to mine, and I read in this discussion replacing the battery works. A service guy in my country offering about half of the price of new pair by replacing the battery; parts and service cost. Am still wondering will it last?
Because relying on their customer care might be useless and I don’t why i like this model and how it sounds.

userPhone Honestly it seems like Nothing is begging for a class action suit if it really was a software update that tanked all of our battery life. I have a commute of an hour and 30 minutes. With ANC off and following all their instructions for better battery life, I still can’t even get through an entire train ride before they die off a full charge. And being out of warranty, the only option they gave me was to turn the earbuds into e-waste.

I’ve been using the Ear (a) for a while now but the battery on specifically the right one has gotten really bad. After charging them the whole day, the right one drains to 10% in about 20 minutes, and the left one to 75%. They haven’t been treated poorly or anything like that either.

I have the same problem. I was hope they will fix it with an update, otherwise this will be the last nothing product I will ever purchase, although I like the design.
