While I hate having double apps for the same task, I think that NothingOS should proviode a truly own gallery app. Photo is simply not good. I discovered Aves Gallery in Play Store and it definitely does a better job than Google’s app. What do you think about this?
A Nothing Gallery App - Discussion
I agree with you google photo required an account and always wants to sync. I will try aves though

I dislike the Google Photos app so much. I think there would be a lot more functionality having a Nothing Gallery app. There is a workshop coming up regarding native Nothing apps so if plenty of us suggest it we should see it
You could download the Google Gallery app, which is a lightweight Gallery for Android. While having a gallery app is great, i think they should focus more on adding functions to Nothing OS first
Vinxent I already tried that and it seems to be missing something. I’ll give it a second run.
Matteo Riso You should join our Nothing Apps workshop on Discord next week. Theres a chance for you to share with the software team some of your thoughts and ideas.
Vinxent All night, I installed Google Gallery again. It’s not top bad but Aves is A LOT more informative about picture details and it has more options. Surely, a better alternative to the bloated Photo app. A proprietary app should allow users to get pictures from their cloud accounts. Samsung’s gallery does this: it can sync with OneDrive, as example, and I was able to see ALL of my pictures in just one place - while backup to OneDrive was handled by their own app.
Matteo Riso that’s so trueee
is the normal gallery app that almost every android has ever come to the nothing phone cause i do really miss that about this phone for the rest am very happy with this phone
NightcoreTerror Do you mean Google Photos? or that you want a dedicated gallery app from Nothing?
Like a dedicated app for gallery yesh cause am not the biggest fan of google photos
Matteo Riso I agree with you. Google photos relies heavily on cloud storage which can be great but it doesn’t feel like it could be used as an offline photos app. I hope we’ll see a Nothing Photos app where you save your photos from your device to. I hope the Nothing design language will be seen in more places on Nothing OS since it’s such a clean and iconic design.
Daniel A dedicated app from Nothing would complete the experience
Matteo Riso Heya, the Nothing Apps workshop happened today - if you didn’t catch it live you can watch it here. There was a lot of conversation about a gallery app! Also, there is a survey for everyone to leave feedback on Nothing Apps.
Natalie Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to watch it live. I will watch it later.
