Use GCam until nothing tunes its stock camera processing algorithms well to match your expections specially hdr, low light performance, overexposure in some cases, oil painting effect in some outputs and more

Rob ⚡️ changed the title to Nothing Phone (2) camera issues .

Not being able to turn HDR off is such a fundamental flaw that I am considering going back to my old OnePlus 6T. The camera output is pretty dismal in most situations.

Just let us turn HDR off. It’s really not that difficult. I thought Nothing wanted to be different to other phone manufacturers and actually listen to user feedback. But here we are yet again being ignored for such a simple function. Too busy implementing flashy features that nobody uses and ignoring the things people use every day.

Until this simple change is implemented, I’d reply the following:

    Q) What makes Nothing Phone Special?
    A) Nothing.

Merged 1 post from HDR = Terrible Camera.

Rear camera photo captured during sunlight looking like dull photo while zoom looking like painting please fix it make sharp photo

Yep, we’ll merge all the issues into one big thread then ignore it. Nice one guys, hides the fact that everyone is complaining about it.

I’m beginning to regret buying this phone. I think you spent way too much paying shills on YouTube instead of hiring basic software engineers to fix basic problems.

Lookie here, there’s flashing lights on the back of this phone, hopefully it detracts from the rubbish camera experience.

I think you should try 2.5 beta camera is way better in this version i have been using it, I don’t see much problem in here.

Hello all, not sure if I write a post here I am going to change something.

For couple of months now I am using Phone 2 as daily driver and I am really struggling to produce a decent photos. Maybe it is me, or I cannot use the camera app, I don’t know.

Close-ups are fine, portraits with the main camera are also great, Bokeh effect is also nice, but when it comes to focusing on object couple of meters away and landscape it is really bad. In these panorama and not-close focus point the camera is not able to focus at all. I mean, at all. There is not a single object in the photo, which is on focus. If I zoom such a photo I see that everything is blurry, like few photos put on top of each other and not processed. Such photos are not usable and this situation leaves me very frustrated and not willing to take photos, at all. I don’t want to take my phone out and try again and again shooting a nice landscape and then get nothing as photo…

Really, I need an advice. Is there a point to open a support case and claim Hardware malfunction or go directly for a return and refund?

Thanks, and sorry for the long post.

Please bring RAW video Capture in Camera App.

Currently there is only one app that let’s you shoot RAW video i.e. Motion Cam Pro app. Quality difference is night and day, that you won’t ever go back to stock video (H.265, H.264). Please bring something similar to ProRes RAW. Like Nothing RAW (NRAW). Would love to see it.

Merged 1 post from Nothing Phone (2) - Camera Feature Suggestion.

I have the same problem….can’t wait for them to fix the issues…can’t take videos or pictures properly….

blurry photos past 2x and ultrawide, ultrawide edge distortion is wild, SLOW SHUTTER SPEED, slow processing of photos, cant really take a good burst photos, when you press to take a photo; IT DOES NOT TAKE A PHOTO. did is say SLOW SHUTTER SPEED?. i hope these issues will be fixed soon.. coz im really tempted to switch back to iphone.

Prabhuji_swayam Retrieve it from the Nothing Phone 2 unofficial telegram group, along with configs made for it, as I am not permitted to share links to such content here, I believe.
