Nothing Phone (2) camera feedback

The camera quality is very bad especially the front cam.The details are gone after the dcim kicks in and the rear camera,there is over exposure of light.There is also no way to turn off HDR in camera for photos.

muhammedshamil393 Unfortunately, we can only wait for NOTHING to decide to fix the camera… I’ve also used GCam, but I’m not satisfied.

PinoLY The wait is almost over bro , Our NP2 have crossed the point , do you think they still care about this device , I think they don’t even remember that out device exist…

AbiS_MjZL72iTVk No, I don’t think that NOTHING will fix the NP2 camera, but I didn’t want to dampen the enthusiasm that the younger members of our community have for the NOTHING brand.

Perfection doesn’t exist, there are other brands with products whose features, performance, and price can suit every kind of need….

After all, we’re only talking about phones — there are far more important things to take care of in this world.

I have a nothing phone 2. and its running the lates Android version 16.

I’m trying to record a video, but the Camera app (and third party apps for that matter) are not recording the Audio. The record app running on its own will capture the audio from my Rode Wirelss Micro Microphone. I found that with Rode Central running, it locks out the record app.

But it seems no matter what I try, I cant get the audio to record with the video. Here’s what I have tried so far:
1. Restarted the phone (A standard thing I have realized with this phone)
2. Check the permissions on the phone, all good. There is not settings to select what microphone to use. I cant see any microphone management apps on the phone. I’m guessing this just defaults?
3. Tried recording with the built in microphone. Works with Audio recording only, but not with the camera app or third party video recording apps.
4. Tried recording with record app and video with camera app. No Joy, the record app stops working when the camera app starts.

So I’m not sure what else I can check or if there even is a solution here. I’ve researched this issue and I see quite a few people have the same problem, but there are no solutions.

What have I missed?

RGB grains are appearing in photo after taking in 50mp night modes in both main and ultra wide
HDR works when the camera wishes to work. It doesn’t work consistently
Portrait shots are horrible
The Red colour always boosts a lot
The selfies are very bad. The budget mobile selfies are far better than phone 2′ selfies
In video, if you record a video without shaking also then the video rotates itself in a different way
In previous versions the camera was used to memorize it’s functions like if we kept 50mp ON mode after removing the camera app from the recent apps and reopen the camera it used to stay in 50mp Mode only but now we used to set at every time
I don’t know why only the phone 2 has a very bad image processing when compared to other nothing and CMF phones
Hoping the camera team focus on nothing phone 2 also.
I use the phone 2 till the last update. If they fix the camera like a consistent camera it’s good to look at an another nothing phone or else this will be my last nothing phone.
I know it’s a new brand the camera optimization could take time but they are degrading the camera quality instead of improving

I just updated N Phone 2 to Pong-B4.0-260226-0955, the camera is still the same has not received any improvements.

when taking videos the first 2 seconds of the video seems to be jittery idk y this happens. i wish the team did a big camera update before the support ends for te phone 2

We all know that the Nothing Phone 2 doesn’t have a great camera — it’s never really performed at 100% of its potential. And yet, every now and then, it still manages to surprise me.

I don’t like the stock camera app of Phone (2) at all, After 2 years of updates, its AI processing just makes the photos look messy and overprocessed.

Just use GCam instead. It gives way better photos, sharper details, and natural colors. The only downside is that the file size ends up a little bit bigger.

WHY IS THE CAMERA SO BAD?

I want to rec something, BUT I CAN’T USE the zoom.. why? because it rotates, takes other shots of something I don’t want, it doesn’t maintain the subject and if I shot vertical it rotates from vertical to horizontal or something like that, its a horrible problem. I have paid 700€ for the Nothing Phone 2 I even bought 2 pairs of Nothing Ear (a) and even those have a lots of problems… BUT IS IT POSSIBLE TO ADJUST THIS PROBLEM? I have lost a lot of moments and amazing shots because of this shitty problem
