My max charging of left and right has now gone to 80 percent while, my case is at 100%. These kind of buggy firmware is annoying the hell out of me. Nothing please fix this issue.

Just got mine brand new. Out of the box they came with firmware 0.0.8.1 and i have problem with in ear detection. In ear detection work when i remove left bud but it doesn’t work when i remove right bud it continues to play music. I don’t have idea is it hardware or software problem.

Is ok, I don’t over use them but increasing the price and still selling them doesn’t equal good support. If these are gonna still sell like the 2A, 2, 2+ then there should be continued support.

But there are still Nothing stick, 2, 2024 and Ear A on the market without support. Be the bigger man Nothing and add LC3 support.

we_are_a_small_company Hey! I have two pairs of CMF buds Pro 2’s. I just got a new one in the mail today, saying it is on a new firmware update, that my other buds pro 2’s are NOT on and cannot upgrade to. Says these Buds Pro 2’s were manufactured in May 2025, my others 2024. I can also use Dirac Opteo on my new Buds Pro 2 headset, with LDAC enabled.

@Rob ⚡️ - Is there some new firmware caked into the CMF Buds Pro 2’s shipped this year? Can we look forward to having Dirac Audio and LDAC Codec support on models manufactured prior to 2025?

That is a new model of Buds Pro 2 (B187) which use a different firmware, functionalities and sound should be similar.

RapidZapper explains the price hike when the 2A, 2, 2+ where released. They are still sold to this day and are more valuable then the 2 Plus

Oh wow! Okay! Do you mind, for transparency, providing a basic breakdown of what those differences in models details?

One difference, from firmware and models, is the ability to enable LDAC Codec with Dirac Opteo (which is my favourite!)

Are there plans to bring firmware functionalities, such as this example of differences, to all models of the Buds Pro 2’s?

Womey As far as I know that’s the only difference for users, antenna has been revised which is probably helping to deliver that feature so that’s probably going to be new hardware only.

I’m curious what kind of implications adding an antenna brings. Does it affect more than just Dirac Opteo from a functionality standpoint? That’s something I think a lot of us as consumers would be interested to understand!

Thanks for letting me pick your brain - I’m just genuinely curious about this kind of stuff, and having Dirac Opteo available over LDAC is such a great combo. 😀

Antenna was already there but improved apparently

Battery capacity is the same so it really depends on the specific improvement

So far, the battery on this new identified model is acting the same as my original model, with the right bud always being within 5% more drained than the left.

Womey FYI my model is B172, build date 2024:11:09 that I ordered November during black friday and was shipped late decemeber. I only got firmware 8.1 but LDAC still lags on high definition media.

MZee7 on the box or inside the buds case, on the underside of the top lid, it will indicate which specific Buds Pro 2 model you have! I admittedly threw out the box so I am looking side the buds case.

I have B187 with firmware 1.0.1.32, the issue is that enabling dirac doesn’t reflect on audio at all, there is no difference between dirac and default custom preset. Anyone having same issue?

AlekseiBar I have the same issue on the new B187 models. Also the mids and and highs sound different than on the older B172 models. I liked the old ones better for classical music.

Hey! I’d recommend uninstalling Nothing X and reinstalling the app. Are you running a Beta version?

Edit: Reinstalled, still dirac preset doesn’t do anything.

Try clicking through the presets, quickly. Are you hearing the “bloop” noise when selecting the different EQ settings?
