Another eSIM question

Hi, new here and in the starting position to buy a Phone 2. I have read that both phones don't have eSIM built-in, but I think I found a workaround with eSIM.me Can someone with a Phone 2 be so kind and test the eSIM.me-app and tell me if the app says that it will work on the phone. I have a OnePlus 7 Pro and on that one the app says that it will work even if the phone doesn't have eSIM built-in.

But my OnePlus 7 Pro don’t support eSIM either, but it will work with eSIM.me according to the app.

This eSIM.me thingy is a sim-card that you can program with the app so your phone think it’s a ordinary SIM-card.

Hobbe Yep, i read into what esim.me offers but unfortunately phone 2 users have tried this and it doesnt work. Im not sure if this is something that would be compatible later on.

Hobbe As Derren said, the Phone (2) does not support either regular eSIMs or eSIM.me. I know eSIM.me can convert some phones without eSIM to be able use eSIMs, but that does not work on the Phone (2) currently.

That was really bad news.

Guess I need to hold on to my OnePlus a bit more then, even if it doesn’t get any more updates.

The problem is that “nothing” does not allow access to the SIM slot. Nobody knows why. If you ask Nothing support, they give you a generic answer with basically no real information about it. It’s a shame because eSim is standard these days. I am thinking of switching to another smartphone for this reason alone. It seems like it is basically just a software update that they need to do to allow esim.me access to the slot to fix their own bad decision not to implement real esim.
