Nothing OS 3.0

This update transitions you to the official release of Nothing OS 3.0, powered by Android 15. Full of exciting new features and improvements to enhance your everyday experience. Here’s what’s in store:

Shared Widgets

🔮 Use widgets to link up with friends and family. See another person’s widgets displayed on your home screen and interact with each other through reactions. A new way to stay connected.

Shared Widgets are currently only supported between Nothing devices. And only Photo Widgets (square) can be shared. We are rapidly developing support for other widgets, so stay tuned!

Notes: As Shared Widgets are in beta, you might encounter some issues. We appreciate your patience as we work to enhance your experience.

Lock screen

🔒 Introduced new lock screen customisation page. Access by long-pressing the lock screen or via the Customisation page.

🕰️ Choose from a range of new Clock face styles.

🖼️ Expanded widget space, allowing you to place more widgets on your lock screen.

New app drawer style

🤖 Added AI-powered Smart Drawer to automatically categorise your apps into folders, keeping your app drawer organised and making apps easy to find.

📌 Now you can pin your favourite apps to the top of the app drawer for quick access to your favourite apps.

Enhanced pop-up view

📱 Drag the pop-up view to any position on the screen, for convenient multitasking.

📐 Easily resize the pop-up view by dragging the bottom corners.

📍 Pin the pop-up view on the screen edge, for speedy access.

🔔 Swipe down incoming notifications to enter the pop-up view. Allows you to quickly view information without leaving your current app. Enable via Settings > Special features > Pop-up view.

Elevated design

🧩 Redesigned Quick Settings, and an optimised editing experience. Allows you to effortlessly tailor your shortcuts to your preferences.

🖼️ Redesigned widget library. Choose your favourite Nothing Widgets or swipe left to browse third-party widgets.

🎨 Enhanced Settings with updated UI visuals. Network & Internet and Bluetooth options now display current connection.

👆 New Dot animation for fingerprint unlocking and charging.

Other improvements

🤖 Allow AI to learn your usage habits and prioritise your frequently used apps. Keeps them active for longer intelligently for a smoother and more efficient experience.

🔋 Improved the lock screen charging status display to help you easily know the charging speed at a glance.

🗃️ Added support for auto-archive function. Automatically frees up storage space without removing apps or data from your device.

🖥️ New partial screen sharing, so you can record just an app window rather than the entire screen.

🚀 Updated setup wizard to version 3.0 for a smoother introduction.

⬅️ Enabled predictive back animations for apps that have opted in.

🛡️ Update Security Patch to December.

Notes:

During the upgrade, the system will optimise in the background to enhance your user experience. The device may experience temporary overheating and increased power consumption, but will quickly return to normal after the upgrade is complete

    Relatively the camera post processing time is much better now even is still consider slow.. but i think that is the best Nothing OS can do.

      But I want to drag your attention to a request.

      To Remove the Google App from my phone instead of disabling it.

      Having two identical apps doesn’t make any sense to me. The Nothing Gallery app is really awesome as compared to Google gallery, especially the smoothness. Except for few features like Google backup, timeline_story and album creation dedicated to each person in the gallery.

      Currently, I have uninstalled the Nothing Gallery app from Play Store. But, hoping to use it as my solo Gallery app in upcoming updates, if possible. 👍

      Greetings to Nothing Team.

      The latest update gave the ability to tap to show AOD. However, the AOD seems to show every time I slightly move my phone (when off screen) and this eliminated the name of only “tap to show”. Instead, this is flip/lift to show.

      Besides, the AOD will show every time the power button is pressed. As again, the purpose of the option (tap to show) is to only show when the screen is tapped.

      Is this a bug or a mistake? Hopefully this will be fixed in future patch. Thank you for the hardworking effort behind the team.

      neikees In terms of specifications, these are products at a similar level. Nothing has only 4 smartphones under its belt, so you can expect them to take care of and improve the camera system as much as possible. Sales of the 2a were also very good and they should take care of users. Especially since Chinese brands are increasingly moving away from others in terms of camera capabilities. I think the comparison to the Pixel 7a is most appropriate.

          jacek212 Have to agree on that. I have an older Redmi 5 with a GCam and a 12 MP camera which gives crisper details when I zoom in.

          I love the other aspects of the phone though 💯

            Hey everyone,

            I’m facing an issue with the Reddit app in the new Nothing OS 3.0. While the pop-up view works flawlessly for other apps, I can’t scroll through Reddit when it’s in pop-up mode.

            Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any workarounds or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

            I just updated from the beta to final version update, For some reason my mobile data I’m getting only 2G also it’s in roaming clearly I’m in home

            I tried removing sim card and re inserting card but issue still persists

            If anybody fixed this issue, let me know

            The system is requesting an update to version 3.0, but the download always fails.
            My network IP address is from Mainland China; do I need to use a proxy for certain update addresses?

              I am facing a bug issue in quick setting panel, after updating in nothing os 3.0 my nothing phone 2a phone’s quick setting panel disappeared.
