Welcome to the first Nothing Newsletter of 2025! With some creative community concepts already emerging this year, a new Pokémon in our midst, and our new Community Board Observer’s first meeting with Nothing’s Board coming up, we’re off to an exciting start to the year. Read on for all the updates. --- **Get Ready - Next Community Update on 30 January** The Community Team have been busy filming interviews for the next Nothing Community Update. We're pleased to tell you that this update will go live on our [YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/@NothingTechnology) on January 30. The idea? To include a collectible card in every box! The Nothing team loved seeing their ideas for cards. Your elected candidate @"adbo"#432 will very soon be presenting in his first Board meeting, with Nothing’s senior leadership team and Board members. If you have any feedback that you’d like Adam to consolidate and share in the meeting, [leave them as a comment under this post](https://nothing.community/d/24994-provide-your-thoughts-for-the-upcoming-board-meeting)! We’re glad that so many of you participated in our 2024 End of Year Photo Challenge! We’re continuing our Monthly Photo Challenges this year. The first theme is ‘New Beginnings’, which is a very open theme that invites you to photograph anything ‘new’. We’ve already seen some great photographs of sunrises, members’ first snaps of the new year, and photos of new homes. Here are two more books and podcasts that are keeping the team busy and inspired this month. Let us know what you’re reading or listening to down below! *Book - Abroad in Japan by Chris Broad - recommended by Sam, Senior Content Producer* > Chris Broad (AbroadInJapan on YouTube) recaps his life after moving to Japan to teach English. With no knowledge of the language and zero teaching experience, he writes his anecdotes of living in the country for over 10 years alongside some in depth insights to the culture. *Podcast - Smartless - recommended by Stefano, Senior Brand Manager* > Will Arnet, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes invite guests to talk about random stuff. As the three hosts are real-life friends, there's a lot of banter and is a good distraction from the generic interviews you see doing the rounds. A recent Jason Blum (Blumhouse Productions) interview gave a great insight as to why making sequels in the horror genre does well, and how Five Nights at Freddie’s was a box office hit. – That’s everything for the January edition of the Nothing Newsletter.
