More precise volume control

currently nothingOS has a default 15 step volume control from the next update, i wish users could customize it in range of 15-120 like Samsung Galaxy devices whenever i'm listening to music, i can't find the middle appropriate amount of volume loundness especially when im listening through youtube music with my ear (2) who else needs this?

Would love to see smaller increments added, currently on the CMF phone 2. The jumps are too big between volumes, specially when trying use low volumes through the speakers in quiet environments.

I had a Nothing Phone 1 before and used a work around of in the accessibility settings, under audio adjustment in setting, adjust the volume balance more towards the to the left speaker to allow lower volumes (adjusting more left as needed to lower the volume in smaller increments). Not ideal and easy to forget to change back after but did help when needed.

THIS! The only, and i truly mean ONLY, thing that keeps pushing me back to my Oneplus 13 or S25 Ultra is individual app volume. Particularly if you’re having pop-up or floating windows. I like to have my baby monitor on a floating window on 100% volume and keep watching Youtube or whatever with lower volume so as to keep an eye and ear on the monitor. I know it won’t happen but i’m definitely hoping that the Nothing OS 3.5 that comes with the Phone 3 that i’m picking up on Tuesday will have it. Or at least 4.0 on autumn….

FrankWi 2025 and still not fixed. I also contacted them and got the same response.

I guess Nothing is not “community driven” anymore… If it was at any time.

BTW, I made something similar to Samsung Sound assistant, just not app specific. It allows you to decrease in 5 levels each stock volume level (it doesn’t boost over stock volume). This means you would have 80 volume steps

It shows up directly when you increase/decrease stock volume.

It’s made with tasker, I think it can be exported as APK in case someone wants it but I will only share it via telegram. If I can export it I will upload it in a nothing tips telegram group.

Some mod said I can share it via private discussion only, kinda rudimentary solution instead of analyzing good links and malicious links.

You also have the group link in my profile, in case a mod doesn’t delete that too…

Much better on the NP3 with 16 settings, where I think by CMF1 has 8 only.

Edit: I just checked and it now has 16, was that via update?

In my previous post here I showed a screenshot of the moreVol app I made, now I made some adjustments and fixes and I think it’s looking great

I uploaded it in my telegram group (link in bio) where I will give all info about how it is made, screenshots of its src, how was it compiled, etc.

Bump. Please take this issue into consideration. The volume is either too low or too quite. The volume levels should be more precise. Already submitted feedback to nothing directly with no response (except from the “we received your feedback”).

I really hope Nothing OS doesn’t copy the bad parts of Android.

It’s a nightmare that there are still only 15 steps for music volume.

If they increased it to around 100 steps, that would be perfect.

If you’d like Nothing to consider adding finer volume control, the best way to have your voice heard is by providing feedback via Settings > System > Feedback… this will send your suggestion straight to the Nothing team.

hrry Yeah i did that last year, countless people did that. But QoL features as basic as this is simply an insurmountable effort for the Nothing team. I have used 3 Nothing phones and over the span of all those years i could not set my phone volume as low as i wanted because it’s simply too much to ask for i guess.

3a Pro wille be my last Nothing phone, it is not 1995 anymore and you have no excuses to lack a decent volume slider. Coming up with many headphones/TWS buds a year but cannot bother to provide more than the default, bare minimum volume control options. It’s just sad.

Whenever I listen to songs or watch videos (with the nothing 2024 headphones) I have trouble finding a volume that's comfortable for me, and it's really, really terrible and annoying!

Absolutely right, I hope they take care of it like you do.

The Play Store app called 'Precise Volume 2.0 + Equalizer' instantly provides 100 volume increments and is well worth the £5.99.
