I purchased the 3a in April, and while I’m generally happy with its performance and camera quality, I’ve been facing issues with the battery life. After about a month of use, I noticed that the battery has started draining quite fast—even when the phone is idle. It loses around 1–3% every few hours without any usage, including overnight while I’m sleeping.
I’ve already tried several solutions based on community discussions: I’ve reduced the brightness of the Glyph lights, turned off background processes, disabled vibrations, and taken other battery-saving measures. Despite these efforts, the battery continues to drain faster than expected.
Considering it has a 5000 mAh battery, I had hoped for better battery performance. For example, today I was booking an Uber in daylight and noticed the phone got a bit warm (which I understand is normal), but the battery dropped by around 6–7% in just 15 minutes.
My previous phone, a Motorola device with the same 5000 mAh capacity, lasted significantly longer under similar usage. I really don’t want to regret my decision to buy this phone, as I otherwise like it a lot.
Could you please advise if this is a known issue or if I should wait for a software update that might improve battery performance?
