Anonymous931 Regarding my previous comment about airplane mode; two nights ago, with mobile data active and my (3a) covered with a thick cooking pan (don’t laugh) to destroy signal reception - after 7-8 hours battery went down from 100% to 91%.
Last night, airplane mode without any cooking pan, 100% again, after 8h 15m (forgot to turn on stopwatch the first time) battery went - nowhere. It stayed at 100% where I left it.
With mobile data active, so airplane mode off, I lose 0-1% with perfect signal reception over the same ~8 hours.
Again, 7s Gen 3 has major inefficiency issues with signal reception, that’s been covered in basically any review (at least on GSMArena and Notebookcheck, they go into detail on that matter) for any device with that SoC. Pretty much the only con of otherwise an amazing chip. Long story short - the weaker the signal reception is that higher the idle battery drain is.
