Glyphs not lighting up with custom ringtones?

So, today it came to my notice that when you use a custom ringtone, there seem to be some glyph lighting issues, only one glyph lights up (the vertical bar) and it flashes and other don’t. While it works perfectly well outside the flip to glyph or vibrate mode the issue with only one glyph lighting up starts.

How to replicate:
1) set a custom ringtone through: settings > Glyph Interface > Ringtones > Default ringtone > My sounds > Add new sounds ( or select one you have already added) > select and save

2) enter flip to glyph mode or vibrate/silent

3) ring phone

Expected behaviour: all glyphs light up in pattern as they should in normal mode

observed behaviour: only one glyph lights up and flashes (the vertical bar/ essential one)

and Yes I have already emailed customer support about this

stormnot Hi, as you might have noticed already, custom ringtones exist to fill in a gap which the community found. Exploring beyond the current features of the Glyphs. This doesn’t mean custom ringtones are officially supported in the OS. Contacting Support for this doesn’t make sense because it’s a third party solution.

stormnot I am facing the same issue with my nothing 3a . You are getting one light I am getting none

stormnot this also happens to me. I read that now you download ogg glyphtones and import them to glyph composer, but I also noticed when on vibrate mode or flip to glyph, the glyph pattern repeats itself and then suddenly stops. You can also could replicate this when creating a glyphtone with the glyph composer.

Hello, you seem to misunderstand my problem, I am not using any especially made ringtones, I just downloaded a custom mp3 over the internet and use it as my ringtone. The light works flawlessly normally, but in flip to glyph or vibrate mode, only one glyph lights up. This seems like a genuine problem to me, so I am just seeking help to see if its a problem with everyone or if something’s messed up with my settings.

It looks like I did, sorry for that, wasn’t clear for me what kind of custom ringtones we were talking about. In that case I’d recommend providing OS feedback via your phone’s Settings > System > Feedback option.

stormnot only the ringtone ending with .off will light up the glyph that too you have to import it using glyph composer no need to contact that shitty support

Mr Steel thank you for the approval, and I am not so sure right now that it exactly started from there because everything else is fixed except this, that is exactly why I want to post this so I can know did this start here or is this a software bug. Thank you regardless

Hi Samarth, thanks for the reply and the explanation. I understand what you meant but I still find it odd because outside vibrate/flip to glyph, the glyph lighting works just fine. Regardless, can you help me out with how do that? because the support is just asking me to visit a service center which is not possible for me, thanks man!

Hi, the light seems to light up whenever I receive a call (checked with whatsapp on my 2a), I have set the call notification as “silent” through phone settings and have set a custom ringtone through inside the app

Is there a way or a third party app that can allow Facebook Messenger Call notification light up the Glyph (Nothing 3a), the fb messenger app lights up the glyph with notif sound when someone is sending me msg but whenever someone is calling it only plays the audio and no glyph is there way to make this happen.?

stormnot idk what’s the issue with your device cuz mine works perfectly might visit service centre or try a factor reset rest I don’t think there’s a solution

well that’s sad to hear,

but I downloaded a .ogg ringtone from a glyph ringtone site made especially for nothing phones, and it works now so I guess its good haha

VinayPurohit same issue? try using a default ringtone to check if there’s a issue with glyph lights, if it works, download a .ogg ringtone from a glyph ringtone site, import it with glyph composer and then set it, if it works, then its probably a issue with the ringtone you are using

stormnot actually I don’t think there are any new good ringtones available for nothing 3a i found only one that works other don’t work

VinayPurohit hey Vinay, 3a and 2a use pretty much the same glyph interface, if we ignore the extra sections in the arc, so I believe if you just use one for 2a it should work

JairGaytanAguilar uh honestly speaking I haven’t noticed that, once I imported the ringtone through the composer and stuff, it works perfectly

If u download an custom glyph ringtone and try it out it just works perfectly, but if someone calls u the glyphs will not be as detailed as in the preview (it wil just flash instead of e.g. flowing river or dots)
