My father was visiting Malaysia and purchased a Nothing 2a. The phone died the same day. As he was travelling he had no choice but to buy another phone (he needed a phone to use). I helped him by arranging for the phone to be sent back to the shop (which was 3 hours travel away). The shop refused to refund and insisted on repairs which took several weeks.
My father bought the phone because of the Nothing refund policy. He knew that if he wasn’t satisfied he could get a refund and that gave him the confidence to buy. While the shop is branded with Nothing, and looks like a Nothing shop, emails with Nothing UK reveal that this shop is reselling the phones and there is no warranty coverage to get a refund. We are still pursuing this and may have to go to the consumer tribunal to fight.
So what’s Nothing’s take on this ? The shop presents itself as a Nothing store. They’re allowed to brand themselves as Nothing but their responsibilities come down to nothing.
