Option 2: Move files with a USB cable Windows computer Unlock your device. With a USB cable, connect your device to your computer. On your device, tap the āCharging this device via USBā notification. Under āUse USB for,ā select File Transfer. A file transfer window will open on your computer. Use it to drag files. When youāre done, eject your device from Windows. Unplug the USB cable. Anonymous7 What you need to do then is just connect your phone to a pc with a cable, then if youāre not getting a prompt to choose the āfile transferā, go to settings, search for āusb preferences ā and select it there. If the options are unavailable, itās likely you have a damaged cable.
