What is the hole next to the charging port

What is the hole next to the charging port? I always mistakenly use it as a SIM ejector. Could this cause any issues?

Its a microphone.

I doubt placing the sim ejector tool in there will cause any issues. I believe the internals have been designed in such a way to prevent this.

Derren Yes, from what I’ve heard it is curved on the inside, this little hole that the actual mic sits inside. So while me and probably plenty of others like you, have stuck there sim ejector and cringed extremely hard (me 2 times to be exact) figured out it’s probably fine. Other than water getting in there but meh. I guess If I ever take apart the phone I will look up replacement mesh to tape back over it if that’s possible.

There is probably a reason that we have tried to eject the SIM with this hole, the instructions actually say
Q: How do I eject the SIM tray on my CMF by Nothing Phone 2 Pro?
A: Insert the provided SIM card remover tool into the hole next to the SIM tray, located on the bottom of the phone
Note that it doesn’t say hole in the SIM tray but hole next to the SIM tray!

Jedster Damn lmao. I think this post was for the regular CMF phone 1 (first CMF phone model), but that is still not good if the instructions are this generic as you described. Not sure what the cmf phone 1 says, but I never read mine anyways before trying like an idiot. I mean I didn’t need to I knew it was the mic’s hole myself, I just did it without even thinking is the issue. I kind of wish the sim tray was on the side like my old Oneplus Nord N10 5g. No mixing the holes up when it’s on the side of the phone.
