Probably some people don’t like the design so much because it’s something new, not like the previous Nothing phones.
I think the matrix is much more elegant and interesting than glyphs, but maybe some of the fans were the fans exactly because of the glyphs.
I love the new look and some of the professional designers I know think the same.
Some are complaining about the “not the most powerful chip in the universe” and I’m sure 95% of such people are using the phone only for emails, youtube and instagram. Why obsess about it so much? What are you planning to use the 8 Elite for?
Also, almost all the hate I’ve seen is from indians for some reason (they have inidan names or use indian currency or referring to the indian youtubers). Maybe Nothing messed up relationships with the indian influences. Or maybe it’s indian bots that competitors are using.
Even in this thread you can see comments that use indian currency and are generated by Chatgpt. Example:
“[…] Phone 3 is bad—it’s still […]”
See this long dash with no spaces on the sides? Real people don’t write like this, but chatgt does, it’s a unique handwriting of the LLMs.
Overall, I think it’s just a vocal minority.
