Rob ⚡️ I am also having RAM management issue on my CMF phone 1. Sometimes it keeps every app in the background running even while gaming.. no problem. But some other time, there is like a single app in the background and then I open another app and the background app reloads.. very random, not sure what is the reason.

Rob ⚡️ I don’t play any games on my phone yet the phone struggles with background app management, aggressively shutting down apps minutes after they’re minimized. This makes multitasking difficult, as switching between apps often means losing progress or waiting for them to reload. It disrupts the overall user experience, especially for those who rely on quick app switching. When I first bought this phone with version 2.6, background app management was excellent. However, with each new update, its performance has noticeably declined. Hope you look at it

It's the same issue here with my CMF phone 1. Sometimes it can keep the apps open in the background and sometimes it closes them. I have noticed this especially on the YouTube app.

RahulThakur_35uQ2mxVfp have you looked at the battery management requirements for killing apps? It’s quite aggressive on these phones and Xiaomi phones.

Hmm so as mentioned I have not noticed this myself but as I am using the CMF Phone 1 right now, I can see if I have any snags in background. I am on the latest patch June 1st.

Any apps you would like me to try specifically (if I have them purchased?) happy to do some testing on my CMF 😀

Edit: Been testing random apps early this morning. I’ve had RuneScape running in the background while switching between Spotify (changing tracks), YouTube (video in background), and shopping apps like eBay and Amazon.

Even with all that going on - RuneScape active, Spotify playing, YouTube in PiP, and scrolling through Insta, eBay, and Amazon - I’m noticing only minor hitches. Apps are generally staying loaded in the background.

For example, switching from Amazon back to RuneScape gives me a second or two of loading before the game resumes and models start moving again. The only noticeable slowdowns happen when I’m jumping between heavier apps like YouTube, RuneScape, and Instagram.. there’s a brief delay as background processes catch up.

Womey That would be great. Try using YouTube, Instagram, and a few shopping apps like JioMart and Google Play Books, see if you’re experiencing the same issue🙆🏿

Womey Hm, according to you there isn’t any major issues. But for me RAM management has been very poor since I bought it. Like I mentioned in privious comments.. I have have had multiple apps in the background including gaves and even another game running in pop up view , there is no problem. But sometimes even when I try running a single app like for keeping tasks or even just google , it closes immediately.

RahulThakur_35uQ2mxVfp I don’t think the problem is with specific apps.. I have tried it in multiple scenarios and the behaviour is very random. Sometimes it works, something it just doesn’t.

RahulThakur_35uQ2mxVfp Edited my above post, but I am noticing hitching in background processes. It definitely is a little slower, than my previous experience with my CMF phone 1.

I’m a big fan of Nothing, and have slowly started purchasing their products. Currently have a 3a and CMF Phone 1. So I am happy to do any testing or supply answers to questions on the phones if I can!

Edit: Random closures seems to be the case not app-specific! Background management seems to be a little inconsistent. As I am testing this morning RuneScape has been loaded and I have been able to multitask back but now all of a sudden it is closed in the background and reloaded the entire application again. Very odd, as I have been testing and able to go back and load-in the last 40 minutes or so scrolling on my CMF! Interesting!

allesia_fontana Try minimizing 5–6 apps in the background and then check if you’re experiencing the same issue. There’s a YouTube channel called Trakin Tech English that also mentioned this problem while reviewing the Phone 3a after 100 days, they noted that after a couple of updates, some issues seem to have appeared for some reason, So, while it might not affect everyone, some users are definitely facing this issue

RahulThakur_35uQ2mxVfp I actually checked a while earlier and it seems that if you don’t constantly interact with an app for a specific time period it just closes when you open another app. Even with just one app in background. Not sure if that is the case for others.

Yes, it's so annoying. I have to restart my phone most of the time. I have a CMF Phone 2 Pro: after restarting, it works fine and is able to handle multiple apps, but after some time, this issue starts to appear, and again I have to restart my phone.

RahulThakur_35uQ2mxVfp Which cmf are you using. I'm currently using cmf 2 pro and it's ram management is awesome. Apps i opened yesterday are still in the ram memory. Ig you got a bad unit

NotYourIru maybe you don't use your phone that much, and also you don't have as many apps as I do. All works I do is in my phone most of the time.

RahulThakur_35uQ2mxVfp I've noticed that this issue happens only with browsers. All other apps seems to be managed fine, at least for me.
