Hey community,
Iāve been enjoying the CMF Phone 2 Pro so far ā clean UI, smooth performance, and excellent value. But thereās one thing thatās starting to feel like a major omission: Essential Search.
As many of you know, Essential Search was introduced on Nothing OS as a major feature that enhances the search experience across the system ā integrating app results, settings, web, and more into a fast, unified search bar. Itās sleek, functional, and truly one of the standout parts of the Nothing ecosystem.
However, despite CMF Phone 2 Pro running a near-identical OS (Nothing OS 2.6-based), we still havenāt received Essential Search. Iāve checked for updates regularly, and even after the latest firmware, itās still missing. Thereās no clear communication on whether itās coming later or if itās intentionally skipped for CMF users.
š My questions to the team/community:
Is Essential Search planned for CMF Phone 2 Pro?
If yes, is there an estimated timeline for the rollout?
If not, could we get some clarification on why itās being left out, especially when the OS experience is meant to be similar?
Really hope this feature isnāt being held back just to differentiate the Nothing-branded phones ā the CMF user base is growing fast, and many of us are pretty enthusiastic about Nothingās ecosystem.
Would love to hear if anyone has received it or spotted anything in beta builds or APKs!
