Nothing Phone (2a) Plus Software Update Policy

Hey guys, Nothing claims that the phone (2a) plus will get 3 years of major Android updates and 4 years of security updates. So, am I right in thinking that if it comes out in July 2024 with Android 14 and Nothing OS 2.6 the phone will be upgradable to Android 17? And I also assumed that since Google started rolling out Android updates earlier this year, in theory Android 18 could come out by July 2027, so the phone should get that update as well. So what do you guys think about that?

Yes, the Phone (2a) should also get Android 17, as Nothing promised it 3 years of Android and 4 years of security patches. But we must take into account that phone 2a came out a few months earlier.
