Charging speed advice

On May, i had an issue with charging my device, so i did visit the nothing service center and they ran some test and suggested to switch to the official nothing 45w charger ( previously used samsung 25w charger) So,I bought it.

After a month, again the phone charging speed was slow like it took 30mins for 20% to charge and again i paid a visit to the nothing service center and they did some cleaning (was previously done) and stated that “there is no issue ” and yet again the next day, the phone charging duration was like 1hr50mins for 20%-100% and the charging block is so hot while charging.

So, whats the reason of this occurance? Any solution? issue with phone ports or the charger

Do you use the official charging cable? Is it hot in your area? Are you using your phone while charging?

crisleowin Always Use Original Nothing Or CMF Charger…I Think Your Charger Is Not Original That’s Why You’re Getting Problem And Heating Issues…I have Original Nothing Charger For My Nothing Phone 3A And It’s Completely Working Fine And Fast

Nicouschulas i am using the official nothing charger and cable, I never used my phone while charging, average room temperature 28-35°c

The only setting I would look for would be if your smart charging mode is on? Cause this charges the phone slowly to help preserve battery health.

crisleowin if your phone is an older model it makes sense if the charging time became slower. But actually 2 hours for a full charge seems reasonable to me. I think between 1-2 hours is the average time so as long its not like 3+ hours I wouldn’t be too concerned yet.

Selin Well, its been 11 months since I bought the phone and i used to maintain the battery levels between 20%-90% (Even on my previous samsung phone) but 2 hrs for 80% for a 45watt charger is not normal,no?

crisleowin You are right charging to 80% in 2 hours with a 45W charger is much slower than usual. If you’re using the official charger and cable like you say, high temperatures or a software issue could be the only thing slowing things down. I’d go to the store one more time and see what they can do for you.

Try downloading accubattery and take a look at the charging speeds. This would give us some extra informations

AhadBeg I bought the charger in the official nothing service center 😂, it might be the device issue since the 2a series has n number of issues unaddressed

i think its the temperature… like after one year, your phone must be hottor because of so many factors.
like my nothing charges fast in cold temps and if the room temp is hot, it takes time.

I faced the same issue with Nothing Phone 2 with 45W charger. You can download ampere app and check the ampere speed, I was getting somewhere around 1.5-2A which is not normal, it should be around 4A or more for a 45W charger. I visited the service center and they cleaned the port and the charging speed is back to normal now.

crisleowin I’M USING NOTHING CHARGER 65W FOR MY NOTHING PHONE 2 AND I NEVER USER MOBILE WHILE CHARGING. AND I’LL NEVER USED OTHER BRAND CHARGERS FOR MY MOBILE. I NEVER FACED ANY ISSUE WITH BATTERY TILL NOW.
