Standard Search in Search Bar on Home Screen

Hi, at first setup, I selected DuckDuckGo as my default search engine for the search bar on the home screen. How can I change that setting after initial selection? In the customization for the home screen I can only find an option to deactivate the search bar, but not to modify the engine. Thanks for support.

SebastianL_ I think that’s an android limitation. Nothing can’t do anything about it

SebastianL_ I think duckduck go has a widget that mimic the google search bar, so just deactivate the google one and place the DDG widget and it’ll solve your issue

Facing the same problem… how can I set it back to the one I could’ve selected before?

IMPORTANT UPDATE: I’ve found out you can reset the search widget to the default one you have chosen in the configuration of the phone by:

1. Going to settings -> Apps -> Google

2. Reset the app data (not the cache)

3. Restart your phone

SonoAX Hi, unfortunately your steps don’t work on the Nothing Phone 3a (Pro) anymore.

I also tried out ADB commands to reset the search engine entry I’ve found on a FairPhone Forum.

Last but not least, I also tried out running the Selection Activity of the “Search Engine Selector” app using “App Manager” with Wireless Debugging Permissions.

All without success. Maybe this saves other people some time. I have given up and am using a normal Widget now.
