Should Nothing Keep the Glyph Lights in Phone 4a and 4a Pro?

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m a proud user of the Nothing Phone (3a Pro), and I just wanted to open up a discussion with fellow community members.

What do you prefer Glyph Matrix or Glyph Light?
And more importantly, should Nothing continue developing and enhancing the Glyph Interface in the upcoming Phone 4a and 4a Pro?

Personally, I love using the Glyph Composer, the timer, and the integrations with apps like Uber and Zomato. These little touches genuinely make the experience feel unique and futuristic. I read somewhere or maybe Carl Pei himself mentioned that 80% of users are actively using Glyph Lighting, so it left me wondering… why remove or limit it?

A quick question for the Product Manager at Nothing (also asking as an aspiring PM myself):
What’s the long-term vision for Glyph and the Nothing OS?
We, as a community, would love to contribute and shape the product journey together.

Also, quick shoutout the design of Headphone 1 is 🔥🔥🔥

HarshitSaini_wRFiyQmv35 in my opinion, the glyph lights should remain and be a part of the “A” Series.. and the glyph matrix a part of the so called flagship lineup… as glyph lights is the most important part of nothing as it defines their design identity and uniqueness which stands out from the smartphone industry as a whole. In my opinion “Glyph interface” ❤️any day over the glyph matrix.

HarshitSaini_wRFiyQmv35 If it was me I would build up on the Glyph Lights. I know a secondary display helps a lot but many other brands are offering a lot more than dot matrix. Which is quite functional in its own way. I have a Nothing Phone 3 and i barely use the dotted screen. My 4 year old uses for spin the bottle sometimes and thats it. When using Phone2 it was cool, people saw it and were like wow that phone has nice lights. Just experience and views.

A. How can you not love the GM.

Never had a photo with the GL but I always wanted one.

I set the ringtone of my partner to be the full Sandstrom and when she calls I walkaway and force the room to listen the entire track.

Seen some hilarity and people dancing in the office while it plays.

I need to stand the phone upright and record people dancing as well.

Glyph natrix has arrived in Nothing Phone (3). Is it exclusive for the flagship phone? Will Phone 4(a) have glyph matrix or it will continue with our good old glyph interface?

Well the NP3 is my first phone so I can’t really say I prefer one over the other. But I absolutely love the glyph matrix on my phone. Putting the phone down and only allowing essential notifications has been a life changer for me.

That being said, I think it would be perfectly reasonable for Nothing to keep the lights on the ‘a’ series and keep the matrix on the flagship phones. And before the haters jump to attack me for calling it flagship, I mean flagship from a Nothing phones lineup point of view.

Glyph Light IMO but if they would expand the Matrix area, I’d go for that.

They should keep the glyph light, even it’s minimalistic. The phone 3a lite comes with a minimal glyph dot on the bottom, why not to keep it ??
