Nothing gallery occasionally does not delete photos

1. Take a photo using the Nothing camera app

2. Open Google photos app and let the picture being uploaded to Google photos

3. Open the Nothing camera app again

4. Navigate to Nothing gallery though Nothing camera by clicking at the bottom left corner of the screen

5. Delete the picture through Nothing gallery

6. Open Google photos again and the picture is still there, not being deleted

That’s actually normal since Gallery only manage local copy of your pictures, what you’ll see in Google Photo is the online copy

georgios1 Google Photos is a combination of local storage and cloud. When you take a photo it’s written locally to your phone and then uploaded to photos.google.com and then the Google Photos app looks at both locations.

If you delete it using Nothing Gallery then it’s only looking at your local storage, it has no interaction with your Google account. So it just removes your local copy, leaving the one uploaded to your Photos account in tact.

Only deleting the photo via Google Photos will remove both the local copy and the cloud copy.

This is intended behaviour. You need to use Google Photos to delete photos from your Google Photos account.

RapidZapper The resolution then for me is to disable the Nothing gallery app and then camera fallbacks to Google photos when the Nothing gallery is disabled. Good that it defaults to Google photos and it does not crash ✅
