It would be great if the Dot Matrix felt more intuitive—almost like a Tamagotchi. Something that gives the impression there’s a little soul inside the device. For example, when you’re on a call, the Dot Matrix could show a visualization so everyone can instantly see that you’re talking on your Nothing Phone.

Hello everyone,I recently got the Nothing Phone 3, with the new Glyph Matrix on the back and it gave me an idea.

Imagine using the Glyph Matrix as a simple navigation indicator: you enter your route in Google Maps, then flip your phone face down and keep the display off. On the Glyph Matrix, a clear arrow would light up and always point in the direction of your next turn or destination. This would act as a low-power navigation guide without needing to unlock or look at the main screen.

I like the always-on function of glyph matrix but it can’t be changed intuitively.

Right now, my always-on toy is set to clock. But I want it to change to battery status while charging and show a waveform while listening to music 🤞. Well, at the very least, i want the time and battery percentage to be in the same screen. That way i can have both the information without interacting with the phone.

I hope you guys do it and make it simpler for noobs like me. It’ll be amazing to create custom icons and tones with that tacky synth chord with vibration patterns like i have seen in previous glyph interface. This is my first nothing phone and it is pretty gooood. Keep innovating guys love this.

I only got my nothing phone 3 two days ago and am still looking for ways to use the glyph matrix in a way that’s useful or beneficial for me. I usually always lock my phone to portrait orientation, however it occurred to me that it would make sense for some of the glyph toys to follow the phone’s orientation.

The clock always being readable, the glyph mirror being when held horizontally and probably a few more that have text displayed…

tl;dr:
So it would be nice to have a setting that allows the glyph matrix to follow the orientation of the phone, either by following the rotation lock or always follow the phone’s sensor

I personally loved every design nothing has produced over the years except the nothing phone 3 the physical button at the back made it worst..😑 also can nothing please launch a compact phone 🙏

For an essential notification, I would like to be able to use an app’s logo rather than the limited icon selection offered by Nothing; how can I do this simply?

I get a phone (3) since last week. It works perfectly until a couple of days ago the glyph interface flickers when a glyph toy is running.

has this ever happened to anyone?

It been a few days that the notification “animation” (that you get on the glyph when you get a notification) is wrong. Normally it should show one of the 10 options given by nothing (I choose the cuckoo one) but it doesn’t show that, it shows a little bell that oscillate I tried removing my glyphs personalization apps then restarting the phone but it didn’t do anything. It worked for a moment today but now it doesn’t work sooo ya help

I’m writing about the Glyph Matrix.

I feel like the potential of this feature has been wasted. I’m very happy with this phone. However, after updating to Android 16, this additional screen became useless. Why do I need something that only turns on when the phone is face down? I know there are various apps, but they don’t allow me to display a specific element continuously while I’m holding the phone. I thought Glyph was supposed to be useful. To help me express myself, to quickly see, for example, how much data I’ve used, and so on.

Why is the phone’s biggest distinguishing feature so limited? I should be able to set everything I want because it’s my phone. If I want the matrix to be on 24/7, I should be able to do that. If it should stay on for 40 minutes after unlocking the phone, I should be able to set that too. I don’t understand this approach. We have a great community and many apps for Glyph, but what’s the point if I can’t display a specific image for as long as I want, unless the phone is face down. Maybe I’m missing something? I don’t know how to set it up?
