Hey all,
I’ve got the Nothing Phone 3, and I can see it has two IMEI numbers, which suggests it has proper dual SIM hardware, i.e. one physical SIM and one eSIM should be able to work together.
However, when I try to activate both a physical SIM and an eSIM, I get a message saying:
“SIM 2 and eSIM cannot be used simultaneously. To use SIM 2, please turn off the eSIM.”
I don’t even have a second SIM slot, so I assume that’s just generic system text; but the bigger issue is that the eSIM only works if I manually switch off the physical SIM, which seems unnecessary for a phone with dual SIM capability (and even then it only worked with one of the eSIMs I tried, not the other).
Is this just a Nothing OS limitation right now, or is full dual SIM + eSIM support (dual standby) planned in a future update?
Would love to hear if anyone’s had better luck getting both to work at the same time, or if there’s an official word from the devs on this.
Thanks!
