headphone 1 ANC is TERRIBLE.

I buy it mainly for the bus ride, as i have to travel 2hours+ daily on bus.

but for some magical reason, whenever i turn ANC on i got some crazy short burst of noise that seems to sync with the bus vibration. The noise is similar to the old 3.5mm port with unstable contact surface, and you keep twisting and turning the 3.5mm jack.

I have been using more than 10 type of ANC earphone/hearphone on bus and never have I got similar issue.

I am not sure is it because of bad built quality and something inside touching the mic or what, but when i do something like shake my head, or in any other environment I can’t repeat the same problem.

Seriously looking for help, possible solution or anyone having similar issue. As the shop I order cannot do refund in Hong Kong.

RapidZapper yup. But even if you specifically mention it I still can’t see glasses being the reason , as i did try to sit upright and keep my head stable as chicken head to ensure no movement of headphone…

more importantly I used sony and bose ANC headphone before and never got this strange issue.

In some condition glasses makes an hole in the sealing which can cause ANC to be totally off and cause various sound distortion .

There should be an update 1.0.1.67 that improve things.

can confirm taking off glasses does reduce the amount of pop noise substantially. but still got some here and there. Like it drop from like 15 pops every 10 sec, to 2-3 pops every 1 min.

MaximilianY_ You said it syncs with bus vibration? Might be some form of harmonic resonance that the algorithm is amplifying. Is it the same in a car?

I have the exact same issue! On the bus the ANC is almost unbearable. I have glasses as well but if take them off it’s the same.

I feel it also resonates with the bases of any song, did you notice it?

What annoys me the most is that if turn off the ANC the music becomes completely flat.

I don’t know if it’s an issue of my headphones

huh mine is not resonate with the song, but the music i listen to didn’t have much base to begin with so can’t compare directly i guess.

but more importantly, even if I pause the music, like just wearing the headphone with nothing playing just ANC on, I still got the same annoying pop sounds….and sometimes I do just that to have a quiet moment on bus.

this is extremely disappointing, and hope Nothing can offer a refund if this is not fix any time soon.

Yeah this issue is caused by loud bass feedbacking into the ANC microphones which causes the crackle/pop. It will actually happen to the headphone itself if you have ANC on while playing a bass-heavy song at higher than 70% volume. I was just on a bus today to/from work, first time taking the (1)'s out, and if it wasn’t the ANC causing the crackles, it was the loud bus sounds (bumps and shakes) overloading the ANC and causing nasty pops/crackles. The only way to fully defeat it is by turning ANC fully off. Only saving grace here is that the natural noise isolation on the (1)'s are pretty damn good on their own, at least.

I would take a look through the detailed teardown photos, or I would simply return them (in the EU/UK this should be easy). Or just do a chargeback and get your money returned.

MaximilianY_ Thanks for the heads up I’ll avoid updating. I got the previous version that fixed the issue and been enjoying the headphones.
