So I have been using these CMF By Nothing Buds 2a for almost a month now. Now I can talk about it. Are they good at this pricing? Should you buy it or not? It was launched at ₹2,199 on Flipkart. But now it’s available at ₹1,899. So considering that, we will be discussing every part here.

Design & Build Quality:
The CMF Buds 2a case is a square case with rounded edges. It’s pocket-friendly, but some might feel it’s a bit big. Matte white finish that looks premium and feels great in hand.
So the case is quite good enough. Actually, it’s a square case with rounded edges so you won’t have any problem keeping it in your pocket. It has a matte finish.
I have the Light Grey colour, which feels like white. After some time of usage, I have seen some scratches at the back as I roughly used it. It’s not that major.

Talking about a round dial where you can simply use a lanyard. It’s of no use for me. I just play with it. The round dial is simple and plain, comes in grey colour.
Opening and closing the case is snappy and makes a sound whenever you do that. If you do it slowly and steadily, you will hear a sound.
The magnets on the case are good enough.
The buds won’t fall easily. So no problem here. The buds are compact stem-style earbuds with a comfortable fit in your ears. So they also don’t fall from your ears.

In the buds, there’s a touch-sensitive button which is at the top of the buds. You get double tap, triple tap, tap and hold, and double tap & hold. These are all customizable. So, an advantage here. But single tap is missing.

Connectivity:
It comes with Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity and fast pair mode with Android phones. So you can easily connect to the phone. No problem here.
You can use dual connection where you connect it with your phone and laptop simultaneously.
Also, there’s the Nothing X app with a good UI, which showcases each feature of the buds. Initially, I got an update for Buds 2a in the app. So you must use the Nothing X app

Sound:
The buds come with a 12.4mm bio-fiber driver which has DIRAC tuning. It makes the sound even better. Especially in terms of bass, it gives you rich sound. Also, there is an option for Ultra Bass, where you can use up to level 1 or 2.
Generally speaking, the sound is good enough at this price. You can listen to lows, mids, and highs without any problem.

Also, you can try its multiple equalizer options like DIRAC, POP, CLASSICAL, ROCK, ELECTRONIC, ENHANCE VOCALS.
The CUSTOM option is actually useful where you can increase or decrease the mid, bass, and treble. The rest of the sound could be better as LDAC support is missing. But no worries. The sound is good enough at this price.
You can enjoy lows, mids, and highs without any problem. It also misses in-ear detection. Whenever you take out the earbuds from your ear, it won’t pause the music. I wish it had this option.

Gaming:
I have also done some gaming with these buds. Actually played BGMI for an hour while doing live streaming. To play games, you must enable the Low Lag Mode from the Nothing X app.
Yes, there will be latency but the game is playable. You will get accurate footsteps of the enemy around you and gunfire as well.
Call Quality:

Talking about the call quality. It is fine. Just a lower number of HD mics in Buds 2a. So if you are in a crowded area, the person you are talking to will hear a little bit of background noise. But no problem in quiet places at all.
ANC:
I’m not an ANC user actually. But talking about it, it does silence the noise surrounding you but not totally. It comes with 42dB of noise cancellation. The transparency option boosts the surrounding sound, but it’s not that great.
Battery:

The CMF Buds 2a case has a 460mAh battery and each bud has 43mAh. If you use ANC, it will consume battery faster. But without it, it can easily survive several hours continuously.
Overall, battery backup is good enough. I actually charge it once a week. You can simply charge them using any Type-C charger. It charges easily. In 10 minutes, it charges quickly and gives 5 hours of playback.
PROS:
- Good Bass
- Comfortable Design
- Good Battery Backup
- DIRAC Tuning
- Low lag mode
CONS:
- In-ear detection missing
- Single tap missing
- Mic quality
- LDAC (Hi-Res Audio) support missing
If you have ₹2,000 in your hand, you’re good to go with these buds. Just do consider everything I mentioned, only then. Currently its available at ₹1899 so it’s a good TWS earbud at this price.
