Dear Nothing OS Team,

With Nothing OS 4.0 (Android 16) on the horizon, we have one simple but powerful request:

👉 Please bring a TRUE pitch black dark mode (#000000) across the entire UI. This isn’t just about looks — it’s about real benefits:

🔋 Improved battery life on OLED displays

🟩 Fixes the green tint issue, especially noticeable in greyscale backgrounds 🌑 Cleaner, more immersive dark theme

😌 Better for eyes in low-light use

The current dark mode still has grey elements that defeat the purpose of OLED optimization. A pitch black UI is a small change that would go a long way for us users.

👥 To the Nothing community – If you also want this feature, tag @Nothing and share this post or submit the request via their official channels. The more we ask, the louder our voice gets.

DJ How about you add one more thing “consistent design across nothing apps” like the settings icon for every app like wether, gallery, recorder is different even few UI elements with similar use have different designs they are small changes but I think Nothing OS now needs it’s one singular firm identity rather than being prototype at everything..

pixcel25 first thing… chill out and second thing, it doesn’t matter if the user uses AI to make a post, there’s no rules against it, and he’s just expressing his opinion and might have used AI to make it look cleaner…. -_-

pixcel25 Haha maybe it did sound a bit AI-ish — I just really care about the feature and wanted to put it into words properly.

Funny thing is, if both people and AI are saying the same thing… maybe it’s because it really needs to be fixed 😅

pixcel25 I agree. Once people employ AI to make a post, I check out as if they can’t be fussed to format on their own, they why should I be bothered to read it. At least make it less obvious but nut cutting-and-paste as that’s simply lazy bad form. It’s probably simply bots upvoting it as well.

I could not care less about “true blacks” FWIW.

Add some expressive material ui also.. as an additional setting, cause as stock Android features that’s what I miss in nothing os

pixcel25 happens… and the community repeating the same stuff… that’s gonna keep happening too, and there’s nothing much we can do about it… and it’s not like Nothing is gonna listen to us either way… 🤷🏻

Stereobasic it’s easy dude, I literally have no idea why the company is not doing it… If they hire me for an hour or two, I’ll only do it for them….

Stereobasic it’s not difficult , it’s just requires a lot of system wise implementation which I assume is resource intensive for the output , so the team is focusing on other features that the community might appreciate

its ok to use AI to express yourself and your Idea may be you are not ok with the English as language or some technical terms for the software and UI etc related . but as long as you are curios about the Nothing OS, OS improvement and what you want from them its ok, Chill, which is your idea its Ok. I purchased NP2 only for Software and those Glyp lights , so I also want software wise they need to listen us improve it. waiting for 16 beta very patiently…..

Adding dynamic island like OnePlus will be the major advance for nothing os 4.0

Glyph loghts have so many modes i just find yesterday by downloading glyphy ringtones .

i’m gonna write some more.

transparency (make it off by default since a lot of people hates transparency)
better battery saver (options like limiting cpu’s performance, limiting display brightness)
device care
better battery optimization (i’ve seen many people complaining about np 3’s battery life and my np 2a has been draining too)

randomperson32 I have have the opposite experience and get 10h SoT on my NP3 or around 13h straight on.

Particularly awesome if the lack of battery drain with screen off but the phone on. I get around 70h of screen-off time as shown below.
