Will Nothing bow to netflix??

Netflix presurising Nothing to be pre installed on Nothing devices to get Hdr on their phones should be illegal ,it’s already a big discussion on X why Nothing doesn’t allow hdr for Netflix. but no one blames netflix .
Do you think Nothing should the L and just have netflix preinstalled on their devices 😔 share your thoughts.

pixcel25 Hey mate, I like the unbloated nature of Nothing and wouldn’t want apps installed on the device that I don’t use. I’m not a Netflix user myself so, having it pre-installed wouldn’t be helpful for me, personally.

No. Useless junk is not really necessary in Nothing OS (nor anywhere else, but NOS is in question here, so…).

Please No. Don’t fall in that trap. I was already very surprised to have YouTube and YouTube music pre-installed on the phone 3. And not happy about that because impossible to uninstall. At a pinch, I’m fine with it if it’s possible to completely uninstall the application with one click. But not if it’s just “disableable.”

Anyway the best to do is to openly explain what kind of cost difference it represents at the end for customer. What the price for a phone with and without.

Stereobasic Youtube and YT Music are different in this regard as these are Google apps - if I am not completely mistaken, Google actually demands manufacturers to have a specific suit of their apps pre-installed in order being allowed to use the Google services, including the whole Play Store. So Nothing can’t really remove those apps as they wish, since they’d lose access to Google Play.

Netflix is a different matter hower. I actually never heard about they want to restrict best quality on phones only which have their app pre-installed. For me it would be just another reason to avoid their ever price increasing service completely. If they are being successful, others will follow.

Netflix being installed by default would be quite lame. I guess Netflix is demanding this to allow HD streaming on the device? It would hurt the minimalistic nature of the NP4/CMF3 series but honestly Improbably wouldn’t care that much overall is NOTHING OS stayed the same otherwise.

pixcel25 It is just one app, but they’ve sworn up and down about how bloat-free NOS is, so I don’t think they can or should.
