I have done the update however unfortunately I think this firmware is a step-backwards, particularly for audio quality.

I have been using the SoundGuys EQ which sounded fantastic on the prior firmware however on the latest update the volume is noticeably quieter and the bass impact has reduced also.

I know there were some reports of distortion at higher volumes however most found that this was related to having the headphones properly seated.

I think these headphones top volume was already on the quieter side however this is even more so now with the latest update.

Is it possible to roll-back to the prior firmware at all?

SleepingAtSea Just got my Headphone (1) today, but I agree with what you said here. Headphone volume at max is too low and bass is lacking. I don’t prefer a ton of bass, so it’s good for me, but it would be nice to have the option.

SleepingAtSea I’m a new user, so I didn’t experience the previous firmware, but I can confirm that the volume is definitely an issue. It’s a shame to read that the sound quality also took a hit with the update. Other than that, I really love the headphones.

I had the exact same question you did: Is it possible to roll back to the prior firmware? I really hope someone can help us or that the company releases a fix.

Hi! Recently bough the Nothing Headphones (1) and I’ve been enjoying it so far!

I mostly use the headphones in transparency mode in the office since I need to hear if someone needs to talk to me. However, after the most recent firmware update 1.0.1.72, I’ve noticed that the transparency mode is a bit “weaker”. Voices sound tinnier and there’s a little pressure in the ear. Before the update, it almost felt like the headphones were not there at all. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there something I can do to troubleshoot this?

Hi there.

Installed the firmware update today. I have to agree with the first comment. This one has been a step backwards in audio quality and made the headphones sound quieter even at max volume. Also something is going on with the jack on pc. I have a pair of beyer 900 pro x plugged to a fosi k7 dac amp and they sound loud at 44 volume. I have to pump the Nothing Headphone to 60 and still doesnt give enough volume. The dac/amp is rated for 300 ohm headphones.

Turb0 I’ve been fine with all the other changes to the Headphone (1) but I did run into this problem with the 3.5mm connection. I can get a good volume level out of it, but only in the last four steps of volume on my iFi Go Link. It would be great to get that analog input volume level synced up with the digital volume level (which is plenty loud for me).

I’m guessing the reason the 3.5mm input can’t be adjusted with the volume roller or manipulated with the EQ is a hardware thing more than a software thing?

Transparency mode is almost unusable now.
Even without music i can barely understand other people in my office speaking.

Lower frequencies dont come through at all. Everything sounds tinny and it feels like constant pressure on my ears.

yeah this new update kinda sucks imo dosent fix anything that was wrong with the original eq and makes more issues than fixes

Would also like an option to roll back, the bass seems less as does the overall volume and they were already on the quiet side to begin with

Unfortunately, the sound quality and volume has greatly detoriated. Please come back to the previous sound tuning with a fix ASAP🙏🏻 At this stage, the sound feels like it came out from a 100$ headphone. That’s really a bummer for me cause i realy love those headphones 🥺

dylbreaking So I take it we don’t recommend I install the update 😬 I just got a pair yesterday and I am scared to update, it keeps popping up asking me to install.

The new update for the headphones 1 has made the bass almost non-existent and has made the transparency mode really compressed and to be honest just uncomfortable. They had it perfect the first time why did the role out this update, it’s really annoying as it is literally a downgrade and these headphones aren’t cheap. I just need to check if I’m going crazy or if anyone els has the same problem. I mean the nothing ears have better bass and transparency that the headphones 1 now.
