Hello, I’ve been seeing some rumours on social media that Nothing might launch a new budget phone series, possibly under the name “Lite” or the “X” series with numbered variants. Personally, I believe the current structure is working really well:
The Number Series (“1”, “2”, “3”) represents the premium segment - flagship phones with top-tier performance.
The “a” Series targets the budget market but still offers great specifications and design.
The “Plus”/“Pro” models serve as excellent mid-range options, offering strong value for money.
In addition, Nothing already has an official sub-brand, CMF by nothing, which successfully caters to the ultra-budget segment. However, the CMF phones could benefit from updated specifications, especially in terms of processor performance and storage versions. That said, continuing to launch CMF phones under 20,000 (INR) is a great approach for the budget market.
Introducing another budget-focused series under the main Nothing brand might not be the best idea. Many other brands - like Samsung and Redmi - have gone down that road and ended up diluting their brand identity, struggling with software updates, and failing to maintain consistency.
Nothing please don’t make the same mistake. The current strategy is unique, clean, and working very well. This a brand that stands out in a crowded market - please keep it that way.
