The face detection should work as soon as the display lights up, I’ve noticed that when I answer a call from the lock screen, it stays locked and I cannot access my phone, I have to go back to the Lock screen, open up the passcode screen and then the face detection starts and Unlocks from there. In easy word just copy IPhone stuff 🙂
