I have had the Nothing Phone (3) in my everyday life for a month now. You can read what I think of the device here.
Design 📱: Striking and distinctive
The design of the Nothing Phone (3) definitely stands out. The transparent look and visible components give the device a unique identity that’s hard to find on any other smartphone. Some find it stylish, others rather unnecessarily playful – it’s a matter of taste, after all. The switch from the Glyph Interface to the Glyph Matrix is viewed critically by many, as it somewhat dilutes a strong recognition feature. Nevertheless, if you want something different from the typical glass or plastic bombshells, this is the right choice.
Camera 📷 : Good results for everyday use
The camera is solid and reliably delivers good photos. The macro mode, in particular, is fun and brings out the details well. Sure, it’s not on the level of absolute flagship cameras, but the quality is perfectly adequate for social media, everyday photos, and spontaneous shots. Anyone who doesn’t constantly need professional features will be satisfied.
Performance ⚡: Fast enough, but not a monster
In everyday use, the phone (3) runs smoothly: Apps open quickly, multitasking works smoothly, and games run well. However, it’s not the most powerful device on the market – anyone looking for hardcore gaming or benchmark records will need a true high-end flagship. For normal use, however, the power is more than sufficient.
Display 📱: Beautiful, with a few limitations
The display looks great – sharp, colorful, and sufficiently bright. Videos and images appear razor-clear. What’s missing is LTPO, which means the refresh rate isn’t dynamically adjusted. While this doesn’t conserve battery life like other devices, it’s hardly noticeable in everyday use.
Glyph Matrix 🪩 : More than just a gimmick, but still in development
The Glyph Matrix is an exciting feature that visually presents notifications and information. It’s practical in some situations, but much of it still feels experimental. You can see that there’s a lot of potential here, but also that Nothing hasn’t yet exhausted all of it.
Conclusion
The Nothing Phone (3) isn’t a super flagship, but rather a strong overall package with its own character. It stands out from the crowd of smartphones without being perfect. Anyone looking for a phone that offers solid performance, looks good, and stands out from the crowd will find an exciting device here. However, anyone expecting absolute top performance in all areas should look toward traditional high-end models.
