SmartGlyph- Detailed breakdown and features

I am Vishwam, the owner of SmartGlyph app which you might have heard about. This app basically elevates your overall Glyph experience providing more features and more toys for Phone (3). This post is exclusively for explaining about the Glyph Matrix features and toys. 1. Now starting with the download and installation:Head to the play store, go to the search bar and search for “SmartGlyph” and search it. The app will appear and the app name shown will be “SmartGlyph: Customize Glyphs” as the photo below

1. Welcome screen:
When the app is opened for the first time an introductory screen is visible which shows all the information for first time app openers. Or basically a welcome screen. It shows the glyph part depending on the device, next page will have the developer name, some special exclusive features for all the phones, and lastly a key information to ensure smooth workflow of the app.

2. App loading status:
When the app is started for the first time after the welcome screen there is a loading screen which is inspired by Nothing OS which would take 30-40 seconds depending on the internet connection and the network speed. Without internet connection it will load within 2 seconds as it won’t categorize the apps as below

3. Now there first option is shown as OS. What is in that?
So basically OS has some important and highlighting features. The features in OS are:
1. Glyph Torch
2. Advanced Essential Notifications
3. Glyph Timer
4. Bluetooth Connection Alert
5. Glyph Progress
6. Music Visualization
7. Glyph Toys
A hidden feature in OS which will be unlocked after finding the hidden Easter eg

a. Glyph Torch:
This is basically shake to turn on or off the glyph torch. The shake intensity is kept higher for it to detect the shakes to prevent accidental turn on or off. Check the video to check how it works

b. Advanced Essential Notifications:
This basically shows the app icon or the app name of the app from which you get the notification if you select the app. You can toggle between app name or app icon depending on the preferences. Also, some complicated app icons are difficult for the glyph matrix to render accurately. The demo for app icon and app name is as below:

Now the option for setting this would be in the settings of the app

c. Glyph Timer:
Glyph timer is basically set the timer from the app UI and the reverse countdown of the timer will be shown in the glyph matrix as shown here. Also, after the time in the timer is completed a ringtone is played and it will fetch the ringtone set in the device and play. And this Glyph Timer has a quick settings tile to make it easier to access.

d. Bluetooth Connection Alert:
When the bluetooth of the Phone (3) is connected to another device, disconnected or turned off the glyph matrix will show “BT Conn”, “BT Disconn” and “BT OFF” respectively

e. Glyph Progress:
Glyph progress basically shows the countdown starting prior 5 minutes at max of the nearest event set on the Google Calendar in this way

f. Music Visualization:
This is the music visualization is the animation which is played in the glyph matrix depending on the beats of the music. This has 2 animation modes. Core and Wave

There is a minor issue for this feature. So when Music Visualization is turned on it overrides other Glyph Matrix features. Meaning other features won’t work even if no song is being played. Trying to fix this will partially break this feature so couldn’t fix it. I will soon add a quick setting tile for this as well which will make it easier to turn on or turn off. So, I recommend turning off this feature when not needed so other features and toys work.

g. Glyph Toys:
This shows information and some minor settings for the Glyph Toys

4. Settings:
The app has a settings page for the settings where you can set dark or light theme, choose between NTypa and Ndot fonts, Quiet Hours which is basically Advanced Essential Notifications will not work between the time set in this quiet hours, Advanced Essential notification for setting if that should work when screen is off only or screen is on as well, for glyph matrix choose the option to show the App name and App icon, Music Visualization for choosing between Core and Wave animations, then privacy policy, Feedback form for sending the feedback directly from the app, changelogs for checking the changelogs which will be updated for each update, app information, and update the app if the update is available directly from the app

5. Feedback
This has a fully functional feedback form to send the feedback directly and has the option to share logs as well if necessary

6. Glyph Toys:
This app has 6 glyph toys available in the latest version and 2 more are in the works and would be rolled out in the upcoming months.
a. Active Screen Time Toy:
This toy shows the active screen time of the device on the glyph matrix

b. Battery Temperature:
This toy shows the battery temperature of the device in Celsius or Fahrenheit depending depending on your preference in the Glyph Toys option in OS. And it shows it the temperature is COLD, WARM, HOT or OVERHT which is for Overheat

c. Data Usage:
This toy basically shows how much mobile data is used and that is calculated on daily bases. So everyday at 12 AM the data usage counter will reset and will show 0 again

d. DND Toggle:
This toys toggles between DND on or DND off directly from the Glyph Matrix. Just turn on the permission to use this toy. How to turn it on?
Head to settings > Apps > Special App Access> Do Not Disturb Access > SmartGlyph and turn it on

WASIMZAHIR See let me try to explain you. Not sure how much you understand but still. See in this every millisecond it checks if sound is being played or not. So whenever the sound starts it can immediately play. That’s why when you lock the phone for locking sound also it animated if music visualization is turned on. So there are 2 options I have to fix this. First is I will add a 5 second delay which is make it like if a sound is being played for 5 seconds continuously then only it will start animating. And 2nd option is make it as a glyph toy. So in both the cases it can partially break the animation. In first case if I do the 5 seconds one it won’t animate for first 5 seconds and then start. And for 2nd one of I make it as a glyph toy it won’t stay on. It will turn off after the time set in settings. Like if you set that as 15 seconds that will turn off even if the music is being played. That won’t break it but it definitely turns off and won’t animate for the time the music is playing. That’s why I left it as it is. But soon to make it better to turn on or turn off I can add a quick setting tile if that is fine.
