What’s the point of having symmetrical bezels if half of the apps doesn’t support this [removed]! I have noticed that ios doesn’t have this issue. If I hide the bar then I get full screen but circle to search does not work. Atleast nothing team can give support to change the color to white or black accordingly. This kinda hits my ocd

Parishith I agree bro there are tons of everday app that doesn’t support full screen with the bar. This looks so ugly they need to fix this issue.

That’s up to each individual app and its developer(s) to enable edge-to-edge display for that app: https://developer.android.com/develop/ui/views/layout/edge-to-edge

So, to put it shortly, Nothing is not developing non-Nothing apps such as that browser on your photo.

Apps targeting Android 15 or higher will be forced to use it: https://developer.android.com/about/versions/15/behavior-changes-15#edge-to-edge

But you are on Android 15 correct, yes. Being on Android 15 is not enough, the focus is on the word targeting; so the app has to target Android 15 like I said before, and that won’t be required by the Google Play Store until August 31, 2025. After that it is mandated by Google.

Parishith I found a way to get it -

Go to Developer Options > find sub heading named ‘Drawing’ > there is an option in it ‘Transparent Navigation Bar’- turn it ON and yeah your bottom bar’s background will become transparent as you wanted.

This is app to app basis, however Nothing has included a setting where apps can be made full screen with a toggle. Check Display Apps in Full screen in settings. See if that helps.

System Settings > Special Features > Gestures > Gesture Navigation (tap the settings icon)

Hide Navigation Bar, turn it on.

Note: You cannot have circle to search AND hide the navigation bar. It’s one or the other. Why? Because Google said so.

I never used circle to search, so if I need it I just take a screenshot and use Google Lens or Chat GPT.

You need the navigation bar to quickly switch between apps though, you cannot swipe left/right (to switch apps) if you have nothing to pull sideways.

Anonymous994 It’s really handy once you get used to it. I use gestures for years but I only recently switched to that way of switching between opened apps and it’s VERY convenient and much faster. Strong recommendation if you have the bar visible, but it will be somewhat odd at the start 😀 A day or two later and you’ll be fully natural with it, to the point of asking yourself how did you ever not use it 😁

Parishith what phone is this in? I just had a look on my NP3 and opened all of my most used apps and none of them have this issue. But like others said, this is app specific.

Dan_ie I am in India. Flipkart, uber, ola, urban company, indiamart, etc has such problems. Now it is rectified after enabling transper navigation bar in developer settings.
