How much would it cost to add a bigger and functional dot matrix display to the nothing phone 3 imo asus did it better

Anonymous779 I think they’re just testing the waters. I would say go big or go home, but the community didn’t take the matrix too well, so them playing it safe was probably a good call. If Nothing manages to slowly ease the community into the matrix, they can add a bigger one to their next flagship and reuse the matrix from Phone (3) for the Phone (4a) series. I don’t see the glyphs staying for any more phones past this point.

pollenjh Not sure a big one will be better. Yes seems strange. But the way they’ve do it is very coherent, and works like a charm in terms of artistic design . But maybe with another form factor then yes they can try something different and maybe bigger. But it works very well like that.

Stereobasic Me neither, but that was a common complaint in a lot of reviews. Compared to the glyphs, the matrix isn’t nearly as spread out. I’m sure Nothing will work something out

The dot matrix display is a much stronger feature than the glyph interface if used properly it can be so much more I can understand the idea of having such a display could raise questions such as why don’t you just add a secondary coloured display

What is incredible and interesting is that, counterintuitively, it’s precisely because the screen is so basic dot pixel monochrome that the result is beautiful and visually stunning and incredible. The same with an HD color screen, and the whole thing would become boring, mundane, and disappointing. The design team just KNOW what they are doing, and they do it well. I hope they know that and that they don’t feel too depressed by all the negativity. And i was negative too. So sorry for that.

I think they maybe kind of underestimated the number of people, like me, who hadn’t bought the phone 1 or 2 because I knew the brand was new and I wanted to wait a bit for everything to stabilize before buying, but was very very interested in the glyph lights. And then after somes years, just when you’re ready to finally buy one, and finally have all these beautiful lights on your phone, well, they remove it. It was a little brutal to accept.
