Kafakbrut Why are the Phones getting bigger tho? Because of the Battery? Is Google Pixel 9a worth the buy instead of Nothing?
Hard to say, because not that long ago, but several millions of years ago in tech space, phones were pushing 4-7 days of usage just fine, think about Symbian phones in pre-Android era (so Nokias mainly). With smaller batteries, but also smaller display. So batteries are growing enough to follow larger and larger displays, flagship phones from 12-13 years ago used to have 3000 mAh at around 5.2″ as some average. At this rate we are heading into carrying a literal TV in our pocket in about 10 years, lol.
I would advise to wait with the 9a, given all Google’s tactics to destroy batteries in 4a, 6a, 7a with forced updates. Talking about this: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Battery-update-from-hell-to-hit-Google-Pixel-6a-on-July-8-Google-offers-compensation.1049866.0.html
It certainly seems like a phenomenal value but to get its battery destroyed because of 😱😱 OmG iT’s GoNnA eXpLoDe 😱😱 as the reason to cut in half its battery life… Yeah, that’s not tempting to get in my book. Or get it but switch to GrapheneOS and you are safe from that crap.
