Coldpaw mackie_cmf I would kindly suggest taking a look at this thread: https://nothing.community/d/38691 To sum it up: Nothing mentioned the open beta test was targeted around early September, so it should go live within the next two weeks. However we don’t know if plans have changed and it got delayed. They most likely will share more information right before the open beta test actually starts.
CMF1_hacker Coldpaw is closed beta NOS 4.0 moving yet? I’m involved in some other stuff and it seems that NTL is slightly behind and restructuring a lot of how they community test items. They have quite a bit of stuff rolling out (NOS 4.0 closed, CMF3WP community testing, and must be doing some focused analysis for the 4a and 4apro, which must be already developed with prototypes being tested.)
Coldpaw CMF1_hacker I don’t know, I didn’t sign up for the test, because I rely on my NP3 as my daily phone and don’t want to fiddle around with unfinished beta releases anymore. So I don’t know if the closed beta is already running, maybe it does and the testers had to accept some kind of NDA and aren’t allowed to share any kind of information regarding the test.
mackie_cmf All we want is a better software with more native apps ASAP, becuase even though the new material 3 expressive design language is not bad in the updated google apps (which are default right now), they completely destroy the ‘look and feel’ of using a nothing phone, because once u are in the weather app and then u open dialer or calculator, they are two different design worlds.
CMF1_hacker mackie_cmf usually to these comments I say, derp, don’t waste dev time, derp. HOWEVER, having seen the new Clock app from Google, I’ll pay for 1 FTE just to make new apps* * However, the double-dot clock has to be brought back.
mackie_cmf CMF1_hacker Agreed. Imagine a native clock app which seamlessly transitions the alarm to the lock screen. A native dialer. More widgets. More lock screen stuff. There is just SO MUCH scope
