Nothing Phone (3) Screen Burn & Ghosting

Has anyone else experienced a slight screen burn/ghosting on they Phone (3) it seems to happen quite a lot especially with the clock on the Always on display. I’ve not had the phone very long, the screen shouldn’t be degrading this quickly.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

oatjuice same thing happened to me. Unfortunately nothing tech support will ask us to just reset the device to see if there is any changes.

oatjuice It is a common issue with every Nothing device. Don’t know why they are not able to acknowledge this and fix with upcoming launches.

Yes image retention is there, one hour of Waze and I can see the warning button everywhere

xxx_xxx It’s crazy, the phone only came out a couple months ago, the screen shouldn’t degrade so quickly

xxx_xxx Same here. One longer drive with Waze and my screen hasn’t recovered after 6h now. Haven’t had this kind of problem ever with any phone, so I’m a bit puzzled.

oatjuice never bothered about resetting. Is a waste of time and effort. Problem still appears.

I’ve noticed it today on mine. Status bar at the top, time and battery etc. and the navigation bar at the bottom.

Really hoping it is just image retention and not burn in. Not sure I want to contact support if all they are going to day is reset the phone.

Arcalius Hopefully it is, I really don’t want to have to reset, just got all my essential notifications how I like them 😂

I’ve been noticing a lot of screen retention/ghosting/burn-in on my Phone (3), and honestly, it’s been bugging me quite a bit. I’m not 100% sure, but it feels like the latest update may have made it worse. I usually keep my phone on low brightness, yet I can clearly see the fingerprint ring ghosting, along with the status bar.

When I watch shows or a lot of YouTube videos, the ghosting does eventually fade out through pixel refreshing, but it’s really annoying to deal with. This never happened on my Phone (2) or even on my CMF Phone 1, so it feels unusual for a newer model.

There’s a simple way to check if your Nothing screen has a retention problem (and it definitely does). Open an image of any barcode for about 10sec and then swipe down the notification drawer

Just make sure to enable dark mode first.

Perhaps nothing should strike a deal with display manufacturers like BOE, Samsung, LG and stuff

I know users of NP3 are feeling betrayed who bought it at launch prices. I’m not surprised that the hardware quality of nothing is 2nd class only. This time they degraded the panel type too.

If possible trade in for Samsung or Sony or iPhone. NP3 is the biggest mobile scam I’ve ever seen. Currently they have slashed prices so high, can’t believe this company anymore.

No issues on my PH3. No burn in or anything like that. Also no Ghosting at all.

KarlKeppler there are, it’s just not easy to see generally. I had to do some digging to find out that there was indeed image retention under the tray icons. I turned everything off.

Strange, I don’t see anything, even if I put my eye all the way up to the screen.
