Hey! I rarely post here, but with the upcoming Nothing OS 4.0 update I wanted to share a rough concept I sketched a while back. It’s a hub meant to replace Google Discover. In my view, Discover diverges from Nothing’s design language and reduces the perceived cohesion of the OS.
To be fair, Discover has upsides, but the feed often ends up split between sponsored units and interest-targeted native ads / clickbait. That’s why I think it’s more useful to let users curate their own sources like selecting trusted publications and platforms and prioritize them. This idea comes from a need for system cohesion, transparent personalization, and higher-quality content.
I haven’t explored the motion system in depth yet; the idea is to mirror Nothing’s existing unlock animation adapted for a left-swipe gesture, to keep the motion language consistent.
