I was scanning the newspaper and ran across this today. I find it quite interesting as I moved from Stockholm and Copenhagen to the UK in the early 2010 and the author is bang on about minimalism back then.
Also, I think he’s correct about today and minimalism and the i17 offerings.
In my discussion with others (these tend to be parents who just finished paying £2k/mo for nurseries bills as their children are in school now OR academics at prof level and higher with good wages), seem very interested in the NP3 design and are quite surprised when I pull one of my pocket as it’s gotten a fair bit of mainstream press upon release (a lot in the Guardian) and then even more press with the £200MM series C funding recently (more in the financial pages).
Anyhow, I find the like/hate for the NP3 usually breaks down along generational lines where people have disposable income and/or are tired of modern minimalism. I still sit on an Wikkelsø 50s danish sofa every day and find some of modern variants distasteful when I pass through Illums Bolighus.
